fandom whining about how she was mean to Damon will continue to amuse me for at least a few weeks

IKR? I LOVED EVERY BIT OF DAMON/ELENA INTERACTIONS THIS EPISODE! I think that this week I'm going to avoid fandom some more ;). I love how this shows keeps shattering all the D/E romantic delusions. This ship will happen... but not like that.

The lack of Bonnie was just stupid. Klaus is hilarious. Caroline and Elena are both my queens. The Damon/Rebekah scene was MADE OF WIN.

Katerina Graham. WHAT. DID. YOU. DO? Like, I'm serious. There is some serious lack of anything for this character and at this point I'm losing the ability to can. Jesus.

omg IKR. D: There were a few people on my flist who were happy Bonnie wasn't around and I just cannot. The way Kat Graham gets treated on this show just gets worse and worse. D:

YES. ELENA. I'm loving this careening into darkness situation you've got going. Continue to embrace gray moralities, continue to fight to write your own narrative, it will take you far in this universe. I'm just loving it, you guys. This is how to survive.

YYY. The Elena bashing is of course running rampant in the post-ep but bb girl was such a star last night. I love ruthless!Elena. I want her in my life forever.

So. I kind of had some Stefan feelings again this week. Like, the last time I had such feelings was in "Our Town" (I think?). And Stefan/Elena feelings. Like, I wasn't prepared for themLOL ME NEITHER TBH. Like I mostly went into this episode expecting to have all the Elena/ ( ... )

Yup, I don't know what she did but damn, lol. Someone give Bonnie a coherent storyline pls.

Elena, QUEEN ELENA. The bashing is hilariously tiresome at this point. It's really offensive when people hate on a character, and not even for good reasons.

I thought of you as I watched tbh. And yes, Elena does deserve to get madder and it would only do good things for their relationship. Elena angry with Stefan is some of my favorite things, she could definitely do with stabbing him in the gut a few more times. I'm mad at Stefan's SL but that's a whole 'nother story.

Yo! Yo! Yo! :)

Hi there! I thought you weren't ~here~?* How are you settling in?

*That's why I didn't get back to you on our last discussion.

Although this time, I whole-heartedly agree with your feelings on Bonnie.

Also, this is the first review I have come across that has some Elena love in it. THANK YOUUUUU <3 I thought she was fabulous. Also I tend to put down that end Stelena scene down to manipulation rather than her desperately begging him or whatever.

Damon was brilliantly in character, confused little thing.

I REALLY WANT KLAUS TO GET HIS EVIL ON. Okay, so utter hilarity ensued with his artistic streak and his trauma over daddy killing his horse, yes. But I just want to see him function as a villain again. Yes to your Caroline/Klaus thoughts, I loved her calling him out on his deep-seated personal issue but

how Klaus constructs his self-narrative in relation to the female fixation of the hour - in this instance, Caroline. - I don't follow. Talk me through ( ... )

LOL, I have no self-control. At all.

Yes, I will take this reading of that last S/E scene as manipulation. I'm confused as to how anyone can walk away from this episode not enjoying how Elena is coming into her own. Blah, fandom.

Klaus will ne'er function as a villain again tbh. I just don't think that the show wants to go there, they've virtually deconstructed him as THAT in quite startling fashion over the course of the season. It's increasingly hard to believe that this is the same man Katherine was deathly afraid of and if they tried to make him that again, I almost feel like I'd be mega confused, LOL. He should just rent a loft in town and paint all day tbh (do they have loft apartments in MF?).

how Klaus constructs his self-narrative in relation to the female fixation of the hour - in this instance, Caroline. - I don't follow. Talk me through? :/Just in the sense that Damon has constructed a narrative for himself in which he is the knight to Katherine's damsel, the huntsman to her queen in the past, and he's doing some ( ... )

LOL. Glad you're here!

I see the logic in what you're saying about Klaus and yeah, you're probably right. But it's conceivable that he has a 'No Birthday, no mercy' philosophy towards ~evil~. We've seen two different sides of a coin and now we can see the overlap? PLEASEY!

Oh, I completely understood what you were saying about Damon, I just didn't see how it applied to Klaus. I'm not quite sure I agree - partly because with Damon we've seen exactly the same thing happen twice, whereas Klaus hasn't had anywhere near that level of development. Having said that, Caroline's description of a 'twisted Cinderella fetish' was on the money.

I KNOW, RIGHT?! It could have been a non-crack!way to bring some humour in. Apparently, I'm the only one deluded enough to think he may be of some interest outside of that :/

while I love Esther being so ruthless and vicious and desperate in her desire to fix her mistake, and obliterate the abominations that are her children from the face of the earth. I DESPISE the fact that as per usual, it happens on the backs of Bennetts through the ages... as in this has been going on for a millennium.

QFT. And would it really have killed anyone for Esther to acknowledge the debt she owes to Ayanna, rather than taking it for granted? Nobody reveres the Bennett power, they use it and fetishize it.

Agreed, bb, agreed.

I'm hoping that something changes soon. But I am anxious about it (too anxious). Sigh.

Nothing to add to your Bonnie screed. Hmm. I hear that certain developments in that regard may take place? Hmmmmmm.

Haha, yes to your Elena/GoT feels. I am pretty ecstatic with this one's development, really.

And also bless your self-mythology being shattered by the cruel reality. You ARE a huntsman desperately in search of a queen, and it delights me that you continually reaffirm that in this narrative. And the show continually spits in the face of this because honey, no. Internal consistency, what are you?

YES YES YES YES YES BLESS THIS ACTUAL SHOW FOR THIS. (if only for this, lawl.)

And my crack!dialogue came true - Mikael did "kill" one of Klaus' horses and he's lived with the trauma of it for a millennium!

You win at life, basically.

What is a Matt, indeed. Really just "why" @ this Matt/Rebekah thing~ that is… existing. This is why I'm "rooting for" Elena/Matt. At least then he will have some use to the story.

Bitter about Finn with you. We could have had it all.

AH, please say it's so!!!!

Elena is delighting me on too many levels at this point.

LOL, I honestly feel like I'm going to start feeling slight resentment if he lives until season 10 just because the writers think we need him as some sort of humanity touchstone while there's the risk we'll lose someone like Rebekah - who is wonderful. Let it not be.

But bring on the Matt/Elena. pls.

Finn, he could've been the best.
