Update of Sorts
I feel like such a slug for not posting more often. Life, and summer have gotten to me.
Summer can be a hard time for me. As I'm getting older I find that I don't tolerate the heat as well, especially when it's humid. I'm currently working at Knotts-in a photo studio where both doors are kept wide open to attract the customers. The air conditioning sort of works. The fans help. But if we're busy (and we have been), I tend to get overheated. So by the end of my shift I'm exhausted. I go home and collapse in front of my computer (yay for an air conditioned front room!) for several hours. When my feet and the rest of my body are speaking to me again I get up and do stuff. Eventually I throw myself into bed, because I have another early morning shift. I'm not getting enough stuff done to the lack of energy and that's frustrating.
So, complaints done, my life is still busy. I took my mom to see her doctor on my day off this week. Mostly she's good, a few minor complaints that were fixable. Everything else is about being 81 years old and a low level diabetic. A few days later and she's feeling better. I know this, since she's now having the energy to work on her garden again.
With the apparent demise of the San Diego Renaissance faire, it looked like August would be faire free-nope. Instead Ravenwood is taking part in the World Renaissance Faire in Irvine Lakes, CA the second weekend of the month. It's a new, non-profit faire with some interesting twists. On Saturday, from 10-5 it will be a normal Ren. faire. Bur from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. it will turn into a fantasy faire. I should be interesting. I'm actually planning on making myself a costume for this. I figure I can use it for a costume party at some point. Yesterday my daughter and a friend were over at my place working on their sprite costumes. Good times!
I'm still looking for work that pays better. Along with most of the other people I know. At least I have a job.
