Star Trek Movie Review

Somehow I managed to squeeze in a viewing of the new Star Trek Movie yesterday. If messing with the cannon of the Star Trek universe bothers you, this movie not be a happy experience. That said, I liked the movie. Yes, there were plot holes (some big enough to drive a shuttlecraft through). Yes, there were elements to the story that were, in my opinion unnecessary (like having Kirk being chased by monsters on the ice planet). I still liked the movie. It was fun seeing the original characters as young men and women. The writing was good there. Mostly good casting. I'm not sure I like Abrahms as director, but the "gee whiz!" factor was there.

Good movie. Go see it, unless the idea of an alternative history freaks you out.
