You probably do this anyway but our vet when I was a kid told us when the hounds came in from the rain or heavy fog to grab a towel and make sure their heads & ears were dry. I guess with hound the oily coat makes them hold the water in the wrinkles and folds more? Butch is a big puppy! Is he fat or just a stocky boy?

He's neither fat nor stocky--he's BIG! He doesn't even look overweight, except that he doesn't have the uptuck in the tummy right now. And I just hadn't thought about drying his ears after being out in the rain!

The poor guy. I hope his ears feel better fast and he doesn't hate the new food.
