Random Stuff

So yeah. I have no good excuse for not posting anything in a while other than getting on the computer when I come home is just a lot of work. :P But here are a few random things of how my summer is going.

~Getting used to know school is pretty easy. Of course I usually have the summer off. I think the fall is going to be strange. I literally have been a student starting school in the fall for about the last 23 years. It's actually still pretty inconceivable to think I won't be sitting in a classroom this fall. It's funny, as much as I was so glad to be done with school, I actually miss it, and I'm thinking more and more about grad school.

~I don't remember if I mentioned this before or not, but my work has a program offering classes in Anger Management, Stress Management and PTSD Management as support for our base members and family. So far this summer I've taught Anger Management every other Sunday. It' about 50/50 if anyone shows up, but when they do I really enjoy the discussions and the chance to actually use some of what I learned in school. One of my biggest fears is losing what I learned, so it makes me happy to be able to put some of it to use.

~Chris and I are in the process of trying to buy a house. Oh what a process it is. We have been pre-approved, so I spend a portion of my work day searching for houses online, finding ones in our price range with what we want, mapping out a route, than we'll drive by a bunch after work or on the weekend, and tell our agent the ones we want to walk through, and we walk through. So far we've put bids in on three houses, one we know we didn't get, and one that we are in love with, though I'm preparing myself for not getting it. We will continue to keep looking. This has all been a very intense process. More than I thought it would be. And what’s worse is I know we're only starting and once an offer does get accepted, it will only get more intense. I'm already exhausted.

~Again, I can't remember if I mentioned this here or not, but my little bro came back from Iraq safe and sound. :)

~Chris and I bought ourselves a new 42" flat screen TV as our anniversary present. This is pretty big for us since we don't usually buy big things for ourselves (All but two items of our furniture was given to us). And another bonus, we paid off one more car and now own 3/4 of our vehicles.

~I worked-out on the Wii faithfully, then got lazy. It was working so good, I was losing weight and starting to actually feel better about my body, then I blew it. I gotta start again, and I know it'll be like starting from scratch. I'm really disappointed in myself for this.

~Chris and I celebrated our second wedding anniversary. There is enough to say about this that I will be writing a whole post for it, but I just wanted to say that I am so lucky to have such a wonderful husband and I am continually amazed at how we continue to grow closer to each other everyday.

~I have done NOTHING costume wise this summer and that is unacceptable. I need to get my lazy ass moving.

I think that's about it. I'm sad that summer is coming to a close. Its my favorite season and this one did not disappoint at all. But I am excited for my first fall as a non-student.
