Anniversary Cake!

I had the great honor of making the cake for amywithani and palecur's 10th Anniversary party this past weekend.

I made a 3-tiered cake and shaped it to look like a flower-strewn hill. Then I put in a path (made of candy rocks) that wound its way to the top. I called it "The Path of Life":

Quite the cake there, Jules, I'm assuming this is what you were getting supplies from Mom's house for when last we spoke?

I always wanted to do this too, just never had the artistic ability or patience, so I'm living vicariously through your piping bag.

Yes indeed! I used Mom's kitchen because it had more counter space and a better oven. (Plus I wouldn't have to carry the cake down a flight of stairs!)

I couldn't find my house keys last night, and searched for what seemed like ages. Turned out I'd dropped them in the mixer bowl when I carried it back to my apartment. Oops. :-)

Honestly, I have no idea where I get the patience from! I am usually an extremely impatient person.
