I hope you have a great week and I really look forward to the next Scarecrow, whenever it might appear :)

I'm kind of Boothy in my world-view: I think some things are just meant to be, so I tried to weave those things within the fabric of canon.
So glad you appreciated this, bb! Scarecrow resumes weekly posting Monday!

Guh, you bring so much wisdom to your writing - half the time I want to take it and run away with it and make it my life's philosophy. I just loved the bit:
Pops huffed a little. “You gotta find someone with complementary baggage. Remember that.”
Temperance smiled.
... hee, something to live your life by.
Yeah, gushy comment, can't help it - this was freaking brilliant :)

I don't mind gushy comments at all, at all. They make me grin from ear to ear. *HUGS* Thanks so much, bb!

I am a total sucker for AUs that weave canon in plausibly, and the way you do it is great. Also, you have somehow managed to redeem one of my least favourite lines on the show, the one about burdens that allow us to fly, which I always found more than a little clumsy (and at times irritating) - on this topic, can I also say how much I love the concluding paragraphs? I got a sense of the story coming back full circle, from Temperance making a choice in the beginning to Booth making one at the very end.
The writing's amazing, as is the characterisation - they're all still very recognisably themselves, if younger and perhaps more open, particularly Brennan. And I think that the greatest tour de force that you do is to work out beautifully who Brennan would be now had she been loved and taken care of a little more when she was so young: there are fewer burdens that she carries in your story than in canon, and I love to see her happy.
Thank you for a beautiful story.

Thanks! I wanted the characters to still be recognizably themselves, still the people that we love so much, you know? And I think that some of the stuff that happened in canon makes them those people.

It's not my favorite piece of writing Hart Hanson has ever done, I'll give you that much, but I think it's an interesting concept. What weighs us down, really? What allows us to fly? Can they be the same thing? Interesting. I'm so glad you liked the final paragraphs. I had that line in my head from the very beginning of the piece.

I love the mix of AU and Canon. The way you write is fantastic! Can't wait for the next Scarecrow chapter, but in the meantime, well, this was a definite way to fill the time.
