Hello mates.
It is currently 90 degrees ("feels like 96") and the temps are a-risin. It feels like a Spike Lee movie from his glory days. I like him - I really do. I didn't think I did before I saw any of his movies, but a few years ago I saw the light. I think I was judging him by The Original Kings of Comedy, when I should have just been judging Steve Harvey. Anyway, Do The Right Thing pretty much sums up how NYC feels right now. We even still have ongoing race riots in Brooklyn!
Me, I'm staying in and honoring Sydney Pollack via Tootsie and Three Days of the Condor. I always used to associate Three Days of the Condor with this Disney movie that was always shown in previews on Disney VHS tapes..and maybe before Disney specials on TV. Hello, Michael Eisner! It was along the lines of Disney circa Bedknobs and Broomsticks.
Maybe I will have frozen margs later but I have to weigh the possibility of death via heatstroke.
I'm supposed to be at the Big Apple BBQ fest eating approx 81 pulled pork sandwiches. I've gone the last two years and would like to continue the tradition, but I can only imagine dropping dead before I take that first succulent bite topped cole slaw. Mmm mmm good.
