I finally picked out & ordered my wedding dress! Now 99% of the wedding plans are officially done. What a great feeling. :-)
Getting laced up. The sales lady sucked... it was like pulling teeth to get her to help me. I guess that's what I get for going into David's Bridal on a Saturday. But she did have the bright idea of lacing the dress up extra tight since they didn't have it in my size to try on! This dress was actually one size too big.
The front. My hair looked like total crap after pulling on & off so many dresses. And hopefully I won't be quite so flabby come June!
The back. Apparently they put in a series of hidden buttons & hooks after you buy the dress so that you can tuck up the train for the reception.
I also ordered shoes & the veil that goes with the dress, but I didn't take any pics with it on. It's double-layered and comes about to my butt. The dress I tried on was the "ivory" (off-white) color, but I ordered in the white... I'm starting weekly tanning bed visits this week so my skin will look good against the white.
Oh, and speaking of starting things-- my mom & I started Weight Watchers! I lost 5.8 pounds my first week! We'll see how much I lose this week though, since I went to dinner with Christin Saturday night & drank wayyyy too many margaritas & daiquiris. I had no idea those drinks were so fattening until the next morning when I was totaling up my points! 40 points in drinks alone, and I'm only supposed to have 29 points in a day! Whoops. My Weight Watchers meetings are on Saturdays, and I actually really like going to them... weighing in every week keeps me accountable and seeing all the other people there makes me feel better in knowing that I'm not alone. And the plan is pretty flexible... it has its tough moments but overall I haven't really felt deprived or hungry. I'm hoping to drop about 10 lbs a month, but that may be a little ambitious. I guess time will tell.
I start back with classes this week. I was actually supposed to start yesterday, but decided not to go because of all the SNOW we were SUPPOSED to get... then it didn't snow at all! But I kind of wanted to watch the inauguration too, so I'm glad I did it. I feel a little guilty skipping the first day of class, but I know it won't be much to make up. So my first real class is tonight. I can't believe I'm finally into the last semester of college. It's really exciting and scary at the same time... but I really feel ready to be done. I'm so sick of being a broke college student, lol.
I found out that my start date with the GAO is June 22... so Shane & I will have one week after we get back from our honeymoon on the 14th to get moved up there before I have to start my job. Yikes! I guess it's for the best though... the sooner I start working, the sooner I'll get some money in my pocket. :-) We're waiting to hear whether Shane got into the Journeyman union's apprentice program... he took the test on January 6 but for some reason they don't notify you until April.
Umm I think that's it for now. Hope things are going well with all of you! :-)
