ummmm... happy belated thanksgiving?

hope everyone had a lovely thanksgiving. since my family abandoned me this year, i went to katy's family's, which was lovely. the smoked turkey was delicious. so was the homemade derby pie (although it did not rid me of my recent pumpkin pie craving. and the sweet potatoes... and the... everything was delicious.

the extended four day weekend was very very nice and i am not happy to be back at work. (the country music on the radio is making me feel vaguely homicidal.) i finished my holiday shopping without setting foot in a mall. i bought a 1950's style kitchen table. the kind of funky shaped ones with chrome siding. it has a green and white marbled top. i adore it. though it matches my green kitchen, it does not fit in my tiny tiny tiny kitchen, so i'll have to store it until I move.

can i also say that apartment hunting sucks? i have seen such crap for so much money that it's ridiculous. and there seems to be nothing consistent regarding price vs. size. i saw a tiny tiny attic studio for $550. then i saw a humongous but beat up one bedroom for $525. i hate this crap. it's making me realize how nice my current place is even though it is run by slum lords and I have no storage space and guests have to walk through my very messy bedroom to get to the bathroom. at least, unlike one place i looked at, you don't have to walk through the bedroom to get to the kitchen.
