Down to the Last One

A few things from a final day of preparing for Christmas:

-spent the morning driving (sometimes, rather fast) around WKy trying to fulfill a requested gift for my mother from my father. May now have the name "Speedy Gonzalez" or "Barnstormer" in some circles at my local hospital for making a round trip to the next town over (about 21 miles) in just about an hour. On small country highways. Two laned. I only passed three cars, I promise. That hour included buying something which completed my task. I am awesome.

-meal preparation started tonight. Half order of cornbread for the cornbread sage dressing is drying out on the counter. The cranberry sauce is made and chillin' in the 'fridge.

-two of my personal traditions were had today: Boiled Custard (not homemade) and Crown and a viewing of A Christmas Carol with Patrick Stewart doing Scrooge. <3

-when I finish this, I'll go upstairs and do my "Santa Clausing", i.e. stuff the p-rents stockings. Then, I'll likely pass out asleep, because I am beat, and still in the buffer zone shifting between Eastern and Central time. I'll give the state of Michigan $20 to shift completely over to Central. It would make me so very happy.

-AMC is currently showing White Christmas. I almost picked this movie up on DVD this year, because I think it is an exceptionally good story. They are showing Scrooged all day tomorrow. This is also the first year I may catch all or part of A Christmas Story in about a decade.

-for those of you with BBC America: They've finally gotten hip to the game, and are showing us the Doctor Who Christmas Special on Christmas. Instead of, you know, turning us into pirates or making us wait until it is no longer the season. Whovians - don't forget. 9 P/8 Central. :)

That does it for Advent Journaling. Anything from here until December 31 is just extra. Have a very Merry Christmas, or Happy Holiday of your choice. I hope to be spammed by your holiday greetings all day tomorrow.

:D
