chapter 2 of "it's just a dream?"
Title: it's just a dream?
pairing: Daniel/Cam/Vala (special guest stars galore)
spoilers: none really (not that I can think of anyway)
rating: PG (for now it's going to be NC 17 I'm sure)
it seems that the readers giggled over ch 1 enough that I was able to continue my work
Barely had the words cleared Daniel's mouth when a soft light glowed in the corner of the room, and a doorway could be seen with a faint rim of light marking it clearly. He looked to the others and hefted the book, but before he could speak Cam piped up.
"Now that's just a little too convenient for my tastes." He shook his head and glanced over at Daniel, who was still holding the book. "That got a clue here for us?"
Daniel once more opened the book to the index page. "Chapter 1 Ladybirdness' world and where you fit in. I think this helps a little maybe." He indicated the door and Vala immediately began walking towards it. "Whoa not so fast it might be dangerous you never know. I mean who knows what's behind there huh?"
"Daniel darling you worry far too much." As she shook off the hand he'd grabbed her instinctively with and opened the door. A bright flare of light and Daniel by reflex shielded his eyes a moment before jumping towards it as he heard Vala squeal.
"I'm coming," was all he got out before he too saw the room. Decorated in what seemed to be a blend of colonial and just plain old functional furnishings, a fast glance took in no reason for her to let out a sound like that. Until he saw the couch. Room on it enough for a dozen people Vala was moving towards it rapidly then tossing herself onto it before grinning over.
"Come on darling lets get comfy while we find out why we're here. After all you say this is a dream I'm able to dream up some fun things for us you know." She glanced past Daniel to Cam and the smile, designed to encourage him to join her, flashed warmly. "I'm sure that Cam wants to hear that silly guide as well but in some comfort."
"Come on Jackson lets get to the cliff notes version of that if you can." Cam clapped Daniel on the shoulder on his way past before he too sank onto the couch and found himself slightly occupied by a brunette with a fairly overactive imagination.
Daniel could only stand there staring as Vala his Vala began helping Cam get comfortable on the couch there. A slight tingling in his mind and the weight of the book in his hand made him once more open it, this time to page 2 and he began to read aloud. "Welcome to the fan fiction designed to make my LJ buddy shutthef_up feel a little better. She's been uber stressed about things lately and while my muse isn't being such a downright rotten cow I figured I would write a little ficlet about her favourite TV show's characters." He stopped right there, looking over at Vala resting her chin on her hands, but her hands on Cam's shoulder. Both of them staring at him in some confusion. For two supposedly smart people Gods could they be slow on the uptake some days. "This person is an author and says we're fictional characters from a TV show she likes. She's writing to cheer up a friend. What I can't place is why she's given us this book?"
"Why do you say she Daniel?" Vala piped up from the couch and Daniel was able to at least answer this one easily. Holding up the book showing them the back cover, there was a picture of a smiling redhead. Her chin resting on her hands much as Vala was doing now there was an element of world weariness about the image, and the word 'ladybirdness' under it left little doubt. "Oh I see well yes I can see why you think she. Not too unattractive I suppose if you like the type." She'd have said more Daniel was sure when Cam spoke up.
"She keeps saying we're fictional but I'm real. I mean I feel real. I think." There was an actual hint of doubt in Cams voice as if he doubted his own existance and Daniel, worried about this, turned the page of the book to keep reading.
"What I plan to do with you all is simple. A little salatious fun and games, some conubialising here and there and before you know it she's smiling and I can stop messing with you." Daniel once more felt the two sets of eyes on him but while Cam's were still in the land of the confused Vala had comprehension well and truly dawning.
"In other words darling she means for us to fuck like bunnies." Daniel inwardly winced at that, but nodded. "oh good I thought it would be something difficult. I'm in how about you two?"
