[He had woken from dreamless sleep a long time ago, but did not yet have the will to move. Vacant eyes were trained on the ceiling, one hand rested on his stomach and the other by his side, still savouring the small aches and pains which served as a reminder of life.]
...Come in, miss. My hearing isn't what it used to be.
[Opening the door slowly, Kira poked her head in, then leaned against the doorframe. Her hands unconsciously opened and closed at the sight of the Professor, but she simply spoke again in as friendly a tone as possible.]
Just wondering if there was anything I could get you. Food, something to drink, painkillers possibly?
[He sat up slowly as she entered, experimentally, testing the feel of flesh and bone. The perfect body of Weiss which he had temporarily inhabited was a distant memory - that vessel had been respondant to his every whim, a hideous contrast to his own aged and physically devastating shell.]
Those things in due time, miss. Right now I am more interested in information.
[Nothing hurt too much... rest was apparently all he needed. Which is ironic, given the long 'rest' he had just returned from. Hojo turned to look at his companion.]
Where is Reeve? What is your relationship with him?
[Turning her head to one side, she debated for a brief second what to tell him. Then again, there was nothing wrong with telling him at least that much...]
The commissioner is busy working at the moment, if I remember correctly. Which is why I'm here with you and his cats. As for me, well, I'm just an old SOLDIER, doing him a favor.
[He hesitated, absently biting on his bottom lip letting his gaze slide from her to linger on the bedsheets that covered him.]
I see...
[He turned his hands, palms up, and scrutinised them before extending his arms and looking carefully at those as well. After a while, Hojo pulled down the bedsheets and swung his legs off the bed. His clothes were those he wore at the Sister Ray an indeterminable time ago - filthy and stiff with dried blood and rain.]
You can thank him for his...hospitality for me when he returns, miss SOLDIER. [He stood, swayed, steadied himself, and inched towards the door, not looking at her.] I have much to discover about this phenomenon and I cannot do it from here.
[Barring the door temporarily was easy; even with years gone without serious training, she was strong enough to keep the scientist from leaving. Then again, who wasn't?]
Before you try to do anything, Professor, just know that while you can wander around this apartment freely, you aren't allowed to leave. If you need anything from outside, I'll send a request and get it brought up.
[He looked up at her unmoving form, narrowing his eyes at her calm yet determined expression.]
I'm not allowed to leave?
[Hojo merely stood for a few moments, locking eyes with his tall female guardian. So this was what Reeve had arranged - a small girl to keep him prisoner in this tiny apartment while the world outside held so much potential?]
[Said under his breath, lowering his head again]...Hahaha... Reeve... Do you even know yourself what it is you plan to do...?
[Looking once more at her face, his voice was sharp] Fine. If he wishes me to stay, I might as well as make myself comfortable. Get me a towel, I am going to use the shower. I assume Reeve keeps clothes here somewhere; find me something suitable. After that, I wish to speak to him, and I trust you have his PHS number.
