So, apparently the opening show of
Star Wars in Concert was, as expected, fucking amazing.
The link above provided a list of the musical cues that'll be played - while of course I'd always wish for more, I can't really argue with most of the choices:
Star Wars Main Title
Duel of the Fates
Anakin’s Theme
Moisture Farm
The Flag Parade
Across the Stars
Battle of the Heroes
The Imperial March (Darth Vader’s Theme)
Intermission
The Asteroid Field
Princess Leia’s Theme
Tales of a Jedi Knight
Cantina Band
Yoda’s Theme
TIE Fighter Attack
Luke and Leia
The Forest Battle
Light of the Force
Throne Room/End titles
So long as "Duel of the Fates," "Across the Stars," "Battle of the Heroes," Anakin's theme, Leia's theme, "The Imperial March," "Luke and Leia," and "Light of the Force" were in there, pretty much everything else was gravy to me, so I'm glad to see they all made it in. "Moisture Farm," "Flag Parade," and "Tales of a Jedi Knight" - eh, whatever. But I can't really take issue with any of the other choices, and in particular am glad "The Asteroid Field" made it. That's going to be effing BADASS.
Assuming a relative chronological order like the blogpost says, it surprises me to see that it seems like a lot of emphasis is being placed on Anakin's time on Tatooine as opposed to the stages of his life covered in the other PT movies, but then, obviously I've yet to see the footage chosen for those cues. ;) And at least they included the most important cues from AotC/RotS. (Although it would've been breathtaking to hear "Anakin's Betrayal" performed in an live orchestra setting; I'll live.)
Two weeks until it comes here! :)
Oh, and I've more or less decided I'm doing Albuquerque. Yes, I'm fucking crazy, but I'm actually kind of looking forward to it. I spend most of my time alone anyway; may as well use it in a way that actually accomplishes something! ;) Besides, I don't know when the hell I'm getting out of Oklahoma next. (Well, okay, for Wicked in Wichita in a month, but that doesn't really count.)
