I really have lost my mind...
I'm actually considering making a 16-hour round trip drive by myself this weekend. Eight hours to Albuquerque on Friday, and then eight hours back to Oklahoma on Sunday.
For a while my sister and I had been shooting for heading out there this weekend to visit some long-not-visited relatives of Dad's and catch a bit of the last weekend of the Balloon Fiesta. She just found out her asshole boss isn't going to let her off this weekend.
And I'm still considering going.
I think I could do it, with sufficient sleep, caffeine, and breaks. But GOD. I wouldn't even think about it if it weren't for all the people I want to see out there (who, again, I haven't seen in years, and the last visit we had out there was absolutely awesome). And especially since Grandpa died, I'm not going to have near the chances I used to to visit family out-of-state.
(And yeah, I looked at flying. It's $500 roundtrip, and no way in hell can I afford that right now. And no, Dad can't go either; he's already taking next weekend off for other stuff. Meh.)
