OK, had one of my earlier questions about Hiro's girlfriend answered in the next episode. Again, poor Hiro.
Have finished disc 4 and am now out of new eps to watch. I've been pointed to a site where I can watch the entire season streaming, but right now I'm trying to decide whether my greed is enough to watch the episodes with potentially skippy video and Asian subtitles blocking part of the screen. Or to just charge out and buy the flippin' box set already, even with only $120 to make it to the end of the month as is. And even though I'll probably have the next two discs by Monday.
Episodes: Fallout, Godsend, The Fix, Distractions (aka The Episode That Broke A Thousand Shippers). In no particular order:
--How stupid was Eden to actually try and pull that on Sylar? (I'm still not entirely sure how he didn't escape after that point, aside from the writers still needing him to set up that totally awesome scene later where he's locked Papa Bennet in the cell and is threatening him about Claire.) At least she had the sense to blow her brains out before Sylar made a snack of 'em. Not really fussed to see her go.
--Also kind of stupid? Matt/FBI girl's raid on Mutant Dunder Mifflin.
--So, we're teased with yet another cute - and much more flirty - Peter/Claire scene in Peter's cell? Dude, just mean. And kind of disturbing, given that the writers know Claire's true heritage at this point.
--So Claire does have outfits aside from her cheerleader outfit, thank goodness.
--OK, I was half-right about DL's escape. Being able to phase through matter? Pretty damn handy ability to have when there's a bullet headed straight for your forehead.
--Aww, they mindwiped Zach. Poor Claire. Kind of sweet with her trying to build their friendship over from scratch, though.
--Peter's the bomb. (Now there's a phrase that could do well to stay dead.) I'd theorized maybe his splodeyness was from absorbing Nuclear Ted's powers, but the superpower-absorbing-overload works too. The Peter!bomb was another thing I'd semi been spoiled on, having caught the last five minutes of the season finale.
--Given Sylar's goal, and Peter's ability, I'm just waiting for the moment when Sylar discovers him. Even if possessing Peter's powers would render moot the need for that fun Pop-Goes-The-Skullcap game he loves to play so much. Then again, Sylar would probably just do that for fun anyway.
--"FLYING MAN!" :D Hiro and Nathan totally need more scenes together. *makes note to hunt fic when she's caught up on episodes*
--Greg Grunberg's a doll and all that, but is this plotline with his wife actually supposed to be going anywhere, or just an excuse for him to have screentime so we don't forget about him? Also, I get that you're excited about the baby... but considering your wife's extracurricular activities, you have remembered there is just the slight possibility it ain't even yours, yes?
--Papa!Hiro is Sulu! As if there weren't enough Trek references from Hiro's character. ;) (*imagines fic with young!Hiro remarking to his pop that he looks just like that guy who flies the Enterprise*) Also, the NCC-1701 license plate on Papa!Hiro's car? HEE. :D I like getting a little more background on Hiro's character, though I am wondering if there was an actual plot purpose for that storyline.
--Peter bitching about not having to do what Ninth Doctor/Invisible Dude asks him... um, Emo McFlippy Hair? You stalked him and asked him to teach you how to control your 'splodeyness. (I'll grant that watching Simone all cozy with Isaac again probably didn't help his mood.) Speaking of which, shoving Peter off the roof? Awesome lesson. Bet there were a few times Obi-Wan wished he could do that to Anakin or Luke.
--I snark about Peter's emo-ness, sure, but he's really not so bad. Kind of cute, and love the BroYay scenes with Nathan. Heh. Again, amusing how Peter has more interesting chemistry/subtext with people that are related to him than his supposed love interest. ;)
--JessiNik turned herself in, only for greasy lawyer dude to get her back out again. (Even though she'd just nearly killed her shrink with a taser... kind of hard to pin that one on some elsewhere death row inmate.) Like Matt's storyline, I'm kind of hoping this one goes somewhere quick, soon. (And judging by what I've seen of the next ep, and that Jess has Niki locked up pretty well, looks like these two birds may be hit with one stone.)
--Oh, almost forgot Mohinder. Probably because I can't remember him doing much.
--Poor Mrs. Bennet. Her brain must resemble Swiss cheese by now from all those mindwipes. That, or she's totally got brain cancer.
--OMG NATHAN'S CLAIRE'S DADDY! Except... yeah, already knew that. Now there's a cool family: mom's a firestarter, dad can fly, daughter's Wolverine without the yucky sideburns, and uncle's an explodey sponge guy. Oh, and they're all very pretty. I think I'll take that over the family with the super-strength schizo homicidal mom, although Micah's skillz with an ATM sure would be tempting to have right now. (See the aforementioned $120.)
--Also, given Nathan's apparent affinity for blondes, I'm wondering if black ain't his Missus' original hair color. Heh.
Guess I'm going to need to dig up a Heroes icon at some point, though I should probably wait on that until after I've caught up.
