Finished "Homecoming" and "Six Months Earlier".
--Oh, Hiro. You're sweet, and she was sweet too. *hugs* (One thing I'm not quite clear on - after Hiro came back to the present day and his girl was still dead, was it due to the aneurysm, or was it still from Sylar's brain-stealage?)
--Niki has a dead sister...probably a twin. Makes sense. I seem to recall an X-Files episode where a guy's long-dead twin was living (and murdering) vicariously through him. Here, though, I somehow doubt Jessica's brain is in cryo somewhere. Even with Sylar's proclivities.
--Speaking of which, I'm getting a little inkling of an idea on just how Sylar absorbs other Heroes' powers, after ripping their brains out. Ew, I hope I'm wrong.
--Even pre-brain-stealing psycho, Sylar (or "Gabriel" - interesting name choice) gives off a major air of basement-dweller-sociopath. (Part of it's definitely the haircut.) If you can overlook that, he's actually kind of cute. And on another note - so this is the guy who's going to play young Spock in the new Trek prequel? I can see it. I'm picturing "Vulcan nerve pinch" in a whole different light, though.
--So, Jessica/Niki shot Forrest - erm, D.L. Given D.L.'s special talent (and the fact that there's a shot of him on the DVD menu from a scene I haven't seen yet), I'll go out on a short limb and say "not dead." He'll fake dead, Electrical/Technowiz kid will somehow revive him, and/or DL'll simply reach inside himself and pull out the slug.
--Nathan's a major ass, but somehow at this point I find him more compelling than Peter (and not bad to look at, either - maybe it's the suits).
--In the Heroes-verse, a flouncy little cheerleader has the amazing self-healing ability. In the X-Men verse, it's Wolverine. There's a Spandex/tights joke here, I'm just not finding it.
--Jackie was a bitch, but the way Sylar killed her... ouch. Seemed to take him longer to try to kill her than to kill Hiro's cute waitress, though (the latter seemed almost instantaneous).
--So, Peter and Claire have finally met. And there's sparkage. (Much moreso than with Simone, but one way or another I don't see her sticking around much longer anyway.) Enough so that it was slightly creepifying to know they're related. So, are all of Claire's relationships with the men in her family going to have that air of slight creepifyingness? Heh.
--I figured Peter would survive either by absorbing Claire's or Sylar's powers. No shock there.
--Mohinder's narration still bugs me. I also suspect the overall plot is starting to become too sprawling, and with so many balls being juggled it seems inevitable some are going to get dropped. I'm also having a hard time picturing how the setup here can last beyond one or two seasons, but in the meantime, the bumps aren't keeping me from enjoying the ride.
On to disc 3...
