Been a while since I last posted.  Not really a lot going on.  Work is still cool. House is still cool.  Car is still cool. Nothing major going on.  Went to WAR. It was wet and cold but it was still nice to relax.

I guess you could say WAR was a catalyst for how I am feeling right now. I want to sew. It seems the only conversations I have been

Hi, I know I haven't seen you in awhile, but I was just going through my friends list. I'm obsessed with corsetry and I thought i could help you out a bit.
A busk is the front closure piece to the corset, it has one side with loops and the other side has sort of raised buttons that snap onto the loops. It's weird, but if you look at a nice corset you'll know what i mean. you don't have to make a corset with a busk, some styles are only open at the back. you can also do a hook-and-eye closure for the front, but you'll need to reinforce the front with boning.
be sure to get coutil fabric to line with, it will hold the best resistance.
Oh, and a good idea is to make a practice corset first out of cheap fabric to get the pattern fitted right and help you learn how to do it so you don't mess up expensive nice fabric.
There are corseting lj groups and if you spend enough time on the internet looking, you will find a wealth of help.

I thought I could make some recommendations - Abby (abbybob) is actually ordering some boning soon. Talk to her on that (already cut to different lengths). Abby also has a LOT of resources as does the SCA. Plus, the SCA has a sewing guild. Abby's just all around cool (she's doing $25 facials all through summer).
