Trout!
Ahh, the trout!episode from season 2 of Grey's Anatomy. Derek and Addison are trying to make their marriage work, so they are living in his trailer in the woods and are miserable. He catches a trout for breakfast, and here she has just flipped her head back up after blow-drying her hair upside down and is shocked and agog at the trout in her face. This is followed by one of my favorite exchanges:
Addison (screaming): I hate this freaking trailer!!
Derek (calmly): Fine, then. No trout for you.
Or something similar. In any case, this is one of my icons for utterly random, non sequitor-type posts and comments. It is silly, and I love Addison's expression of "WTF?! TROUT!" And Derek is so pleased with himself.
Old School Love
A screencap from The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance, which some of you may remember be blathering on about for ages and ages. I love that song, and the movie is... you should watch it. The ending makes it more than a Western. It's a bit off-putting. Anywho!! I have a HUGE thing for Jimmy Stewart and old black and white movies, and this scene takes place when he's been injured but is being called out by Liberty Valance to duel, and it's just poignant and sweet, and I adore the pic. It's sweet, and they're just a little desperate. This is my love icon. (Clearly.)
For the Birds O_O
I love Pixar, and "For the Birds" is one of my very favorite of their shorts. (I love that the little birds get it in the end.) Anyway, I was looking for a shocked, O_O! icon--and this so fit the bill. I love it, it's perfect for those eye-popping moments.
Vanilla Latte OTP
Another Grey's Anatomy icon. Oh, Addison and Alex--your romance was short-lived and... well, not very lived at all. But you were soooo addictive and sweet while you lasted. Rather like a vanilla latte. Anyway, the name came from the scene the pic was taken from--Alex had to run errands for Mark and Mark asked for a latte and flipped out and punished Alex when he brought him a vanilla latte instead of a regular one--so Addison later asked him why. He said "Because he was mean to you." Which was true--Mark was. And Alex knew what kind of latte to get. It was so *sweet* and was the moment that pairing clicked for me. I miss it, in a 'it-could-have-been-good' way. And it could have been AWESOME, if Addie hadn't left for her spin-off show. And I like Ava now that she's not a patient. Ah well. I keep the icon for sentimental reasons. My ship-that-almost-was.
Never let go
I love Narnia and the Pevensies in particular, and especially Peter and his sisters--I adore Peter and Lucy the most, I have to say. I confess to liking the drama in this scene and this icon. ::shrug:: Also had fun making this icon, and I love the expressions on their faces. They're so relieved. Oh, Narnia. Oh, siblings. I use this for Narnia-related things and for applicable moments for this type of mood--I'm not sure I can put a name to it, except intense relief or love or something. Family, too.
Kon feels so pregnable
Oh, KON. Superboy is made of win. This is from an issue of Superboy (I think) where he teams up with Batgirl and she karate-chops him to get his attention--and it works. It's just funny and very Kon. I like it because it's random and silly and generally gets a reaction. ;) I use it for many reasons--if I feel silly, or shocked, or just because.
Ooh! Irony!
I love "Kim Possible" and really, I need a Shego icon, as she is my favorite. But this icon is all about the text and the expression on Drakken's face--I can almost hear him say that, with glee. I haven't had much chance to use it, but I anticipate using it for ironic moments--I needed an irony icon. This worked.
I am, indeed, verbose. =P If you want to know about any of my other icons, go ahead and ask! :)
Note: Is everyone else not getting their comment notifications? Because I'm not getting any, which I do not approve of, and I see other mentions of this phenomenon on my f-list. Just saying.
