The Great Boot Debate

Feb 22, 2010 12:07

So I bought some what I thought were magnificent pirate boots. I paid A LOT of money for them, but at the time did not feel guilty. Then I kind of thought about it and was like, "yeah, but I didn't travel anywhere this month. So I can swing the shoe money."

And after a whole day of slightly nagging guilt, my dad sort of offhand said, "Oh, nice cowboy boots."

I should not have been as upset as I was. I panicked. I had moments last night where I would shoot from sleep and say, "AH! I neeeeed to return those boots. They are not the boots I wanted." Then I would realize I was being ridiculous. Then I would need to return them again. And now I am in some kind of tizzy.

I don't think it's so much about the type of boots they are anymore. It's just me stressing about money. But they just changed the day of Irish dancing classes, so I can return my thirty-euro Irish dancing shoes.  So that will make these boots thirty euro cheaper.

There are, I am sure, things that should worry me more than whether or not to return these boots, or whether they are pirate or cowboy boots. But I can't think of what they are right now. What do you guys think? Pirate or Cowboy?

This should not matter so much. And yet it does.
