1) Where to, after Ireland?
Back home, to work and study and shnoogle my puppy and obese cat. Then... I don't know. I might visit L.A. and Long Beach this winter to see my roommate.
2) What virtues do all your characters have, if any? What's common to your favorite ones you didn't write?
Hmm... Common sense is a virtue that a lot of them end up with (well, obviously not Algie). This is probably because when I encounter someone totally devoid of common sense, I am appalled and confused. Plus, no-nonsense women are AWESOME. I don't know about the ones I didn't write. Do you mean virtues or characters? Hammond is charitable, and Farkhor a lot more sappy than he lets on. Mostly, I think the things I didn't write about my characters are the more negative things; I've left it pretty unclear how often Carolion smokes weed or drinks. I'm actually not really sure if she might not be an alcoholic, or at least verging on becoming one. But everything about her is borderline, so it's ok. I'm not even sure SHE knows if she's not a borderline alcoholic.
3) When have you set Algie and Hammond most recently? I know it's changed, I know it will change, but I want research geekery with a side of flamboyant magical detectives.
Usually, the year I start from research-wise is 1877. Then, if I can't find what I need, I modulate up and down until I hit upon the right year.
4) Planning to fangirl anyone at ICFA?
Well, if Mike Arnzen was there... but he's not coming. : ( So instead I'll just stick to fangirling Tony.
5) I have no idea what you're studying. I think you've told me before, but I no longer care so much about friends' majors because they no longer contribute to when I interact with said friends. Please enlighten me, and say why.
I'm and English major, concentrating in creative writing. Which is SO useful. I call it my degree in waiting tables. Though I'm looking at an internship at a newspaper this summer, so that will be something. I'm doing this program because writing is what I really, REALLY love, and I looked around and realized that very few people are actually in jobs that have anything to do with their undergrad degree. So it doesn't really matter if you have a kind of useless one. And you know what? It's not even that useless.
