Next Semester Classes!

I'm actually stoked about next semester: I have two classes in Med-Ren (one lit and one history) and two in 19th c. lit. I was worried about finding a third English class because I was wait listed for one class and had to find another english class to take instead of 692 (which I couldn't get in). I guess some grad students complained there weren't enough lit courses and too many rhet comp, that the program opened up a new lit course. It's on Antebellum Slave Literature and Rhetoric with Dr. Mattingly; it'll be like my first two classes with her all over again. Thursdays will be awful again--even worse because there's maybe 10-15 minutes between each of my classes. I'll be in class for seven hours and fifteen minutes back to back. Three of the professors are among my favorites: Beattie, Rabin, and Mattingly. I don't know about Dr. Griffin; she's the chair of the department and thus very intimidating.

With so much 19th century lit courses which come with lots of history, I could by all means by a 19th c. lit scholar. I even have several really good papers that with a little work could  be published. My friend Abby keeps trying to coax me to become a 19th c. lit person, but I'm still like "No thanks, I like my med-ren stuff complete with queens, knights, dragons, unicorns, magic, fighting saints, talking heads, etc."

So next semester my schedule is:

The Black Plague - Beattie- Tues & Thurs. 2:30 - 3:45
Medieval Law and Literature - Rabin - Thurs. 7:00 - 9:45
Scenes of Reading - Griffin - Wed. 4:00 - 6:45
Rhetoric of Antebellum Slave Culture or Lit? - Mattingly - Thurs. - 4:00 - 6:45

My Chaucer paper got pushed back to Monday along with Virginia Woolf. Thank goodness. Gotta finish this 19th c. lit one now. Almost done!

I cannot wait til SUMMER!!!

Moving day Saturday!
