Sorry for the time, but I'm so so busy, plus I'm a little bit ill, so writing isn't that easy.
I hope you like it nonetheless...

Summary: After the vampires took the world over, reducing humans to be a "lower race", newborn vampire Siwon has to deal with the harsh reality of being a night creature...but also discovers that even those said to be soulless creatures have their own little spot of happiness in this world, no matter what happens.
Kangin’s gaze was so hard on Siwon, the new vampire shivered from the intensity of it. Leeteuk’s grip on his arm was now hurting him. Heechul wasn’t even able to look at him.
“Why would they go after Siwon?” came Leeteuk’s voice, so small
“They were looking for Jonghoon when they attacked my clan. If they wanted to kill my heir, they will probably want to do the same with yours.”
“We never said to anyone that I had a Child!”
“…but Teukie… aside from us here, no one knew that Heechul’s heir wasn’t Hongki, but Jonghoon” sighed Kangin
“Jonghoon is the eldest, it would be easy to guess…” whined Leeteuk
“But Hongki is known to be my favourite… I could have preferred him to Jonghoon…”
“In other words, they use the Empire representatives….”
Siwon had to admit that he had no idea who Jonghoon and Hongki were, but he guessed that they were Heechul’s children. He also had no idea who were the Empire representatives either, now that he thought about it. He had no time to ask about it that a heavily accented voice could be heard.
“You are talking about me?”
Turning around, Siwon saw one of the most handsome men he ever set his eyes on. Okay, he didn’t have the greatest amount of memory, the transformation from human to vampire wiping memories away into oblivion, but anyway… It was as if grace had incarnated itself in a single person. His smile was discrete and his eyes, so, so soft… He wasn’t of Korean origins, also, that was for sure… Wow.
“Oh, representative! You are back! The trip wasn’t so bad?” asked Leeteuk with a small voice.
“I couldn’t reach China, two clans are in war near the border. I brought my colleges back to the headquarters then I came back here.”
“Hey Chinaman! Your fellow in MY clan was totally useless when we got slaughtered! You should have stayed!” shouted Heechul
“Slau…Slaughtered? But… Jessica, the children!”
“They are alright… but the seven of us are the only survivors…”
Siwon would have stayed there, wanting to know more even if Heechul was trying so hard not to cry in anger, but Leeteuk carried his Child out of the room. The little man was shaking so that the taller gave him a hug… purely out of instinct… where did this urge to comfort his parent came from?
“Thank you Siwonnie… I just…” but he lacked of words, his voice trailing in a little whimper.
“Umma… who is that representative?”
Even if Leeteuk insisted on it ever since Siwon woke up from his transformation, never did the newborn called him Umma. Somehow the word seemed strange in his mouth, as if it was a forbidden word… why was he feeling like that? Leeteuk kept telling it to say it, why would it be forbidden? It made no sense… maybe because Leeteuk was a man? Nah, it seemed bigger than that, but Siwon couldn’t put his finger on the core of this feeling…
He only hoped that his “mother” wouldn’t suspect that he used the term in order to have easier access on information about his newfound fascination… but apparently he did, by the sign he gave out before answering:
“You don’t want to get near him, my Wonnie. Despite his role as a representative, which he accomplishes very well, he’s against the Empire ever since they killed his prey… I heard that it was an accident, but he never accepted it as such. He had the same prey ever since he was a young boy… He got turned at six… and his prey was his age… The shock of losing her stopped his aging…”
“Aging? Aren’t we… immortal?”
“Out bodies follow our hearts… we can age, but we can’t get younger, that is for sure. We can’t die of oldness, either. Kangin and Heechul lived for almost a millennium, and they look younger than I do… yet I didn’t age since I’ve been turned. However, children… who are turned quite young, they age until they reach a fixed maturity. It is his case. He looks so young, yet if compared to his mind, he would have wrinkles and grey hair…”
“Do you think that I will age?”
“That, only you will know… Everything is in your heart…”
Leeteuk sighed, apparently he didn’t like talking about that. As he passed his hand in his hair, his little ponytail fell off. Siwon instantly went to tie it back up, his helpful nature coming into action instantly. He kicked off the voice in his head telling him that it wasn’t exactly the kind of attitude wanted for a future vampire Leader.
As of the lover of the current Leader, he seemed more than troubled.
“Siwon… Respect this guy, but don’t get too near… No good can come from being against the Empire, no matter how high you age in the hierarchy of our race… He will learn it the bad way… He should stay with his role… making sure that the clan he lives with is up to no trouble. That is what Empire representatives are for… that, and stopping wars… yet, he seems like he’s waiting for his moment to strike down the Empire… Really, I don’t want you near him… my baby boy… I can’t let you do stupid things, can’t I?”
Siwon smiled weakly as Leeteuk was holding his face. He barely had his first prey, he had no idea how strong the bond between the vampire and his blood-provider. That someone could be traumatised by the lost of his human seemed strange to him when there were some vampire like Sungmin, who took preys for toys. As a good parent, Leeteuk knew what was going on in his Child’s mind.
“You know… you don’t live well with losing your bloodmate…”
As a shiver of horror passed through the older’s body, Siwon asked the question he had been dying to ask:
“What is a bloodmate?”
Leeteuk seemed to freeze for a few seconds, as if he was taken by surprise, then he sighed, before giving a very enigmatic answer:
“We vampires have no soul, apparently…”
Siwon frowned, not understanding. Vampires have no soul… but how can you love without a soul? It made no sense… was Leeteuk hiding something? Was he asking too much for his young age?
“One day you will understand, Siwonnie… one day… believe me.”
Sudenly, as if he was sick of this awkward situation, Leeteuk clapped his hands and took Siwon’s wrist in his hand, bringing him back in his room. Once they reached the small yet comfortable room of the Clan’s youngest, the angelic-like vampire locked the door, making Siwon swallow with difficulty from sudden stress as he was sitting on his bed like a teenager would do. However, Leeteuk was smiling at him, sitting also on the bed, but on the edge, letting Siwon have his own personal space.
“Now that no one can hear us, talk to me about your encounter with your prey this morning! I need something to change my mind!”
“He was very feverish… it’s normal, isn’t it? You told me so”
“Yes it is, do not worry, only one or two days and he will be okay”
“Actually, he woke up”
“Oh? That’s good then! He’s got through the worse then… nothing to worry about anymore”
Siwon sighed deeply. That was good to hear. With what Sungmin told him in the beginning of his day, he had been afraid that his Parent would kick him out for losing his first prey, as it seemed to be the most shameful thing that could strike a newborn vampire.
“Have you talked?” questioned Leeteuk
“Yes. He asked me if he was my prey, I told him that he was… and fever got the best of him and he went back to sleep. But, he talked as if being a vampire’s prey was utterly normal. He asked me if he was my prey as if he asked me if the moon was bright.”
Leeteuk’s frown informed his Child that it wasn’t as normal as he thought it was. The man seemed to be searching for some information in his brain which was probably full of knowledge with all the years he lived as a vampire.
“You mean that it seemed… normal? To him, I mean.”
“Exactly… as if he had been expecting it. Are humans all thinking like that?”
“Absolutely not! Some keep fighting until exhaustion and the lack of blood kills them… poor things… I keep asking Kangin to let those go… but he says that if we did it for every prey that did it, we would never reach our goal of limiting the number of human victims…”
“But, Sungmin…”
“Is about to be kicked out of this clan. Kangin is sick of him… and I’m about to be, too…”
Leeteuk being sick of someone? That was possible?!
“We kept him because his clan got wiped out by ours a few years ago, and he was the sole survivor that asked to come with us… since we were the creators of his problems, we accepted… but what a bunch of trouble he is!”
Siwon chuckled, even if he knew that it probably wasn’t such a good idea, but Leeteuk didn’t seem to mind.
“So… what do you think of your prey? Happy with him?”
“He seems like a very… peaceful person… yet he cries easily… Gave me the impression that he goes with life blindly… that he believes that his fate is all traced… or that each of his decisions will lead him where he deserves to go… It’s strange to explain, I know…”
“No, it’s not strange. It only means that your instinct is quite strong. I got the same feeling from him. He will be a very reliable prey. He will never let you down, that is for sure.”
Leeteuk was patting him arm with encouragement. The both of them looked at each other and smiled. Siwon felt himself quite lucky to have such a formidable Parent. The older was caring and always informing himself about Siwon’s adaptation to this new way of living. Even if his role as the lover of the clan’s Leader was taking a lot of his time, he still put Siwon as his most important priority. Quite devoted, indeed.
“You know… his smell… it seems special to me. It’s almost familiar… as if I smelled it somewhere before…”
Leeteuk’s eyes widen for a second, as if he wasn’t suspecting this at all, then smiled while nodding.
“It does happen… I can’t explain it to you now, I guess that to have my theory confirmed, I will need to see the way he acts with you… and for that, he needs to wake up…”
“Okay… but can you tell me what that theory is?”
“No, sorry my dear… but if I tell you it may affect the way you act with him. When the time will be fitting for it, I will tell you, but now it isn’t… I am very sorry… but you are still considered a newborn, and you know quite a lot already… I didn’t know this much when I had your age… consider yourself lucky.”
“Thanks Umma…”
“ooooooh I love it when you call me that!”
“but…”
Could he really tell Leeteuk of the dreaded feeling in the pit of his stomach every time he said that word? Was it something else that Leeteuk couldn’t explain to him now? Would he hurt his Parent by saying it? Would it be better if he said nothing and ignored that feeling?
“But what? Siwon, is there something bothering you? Why are you frowning like that?”
Now he had no choice, he had to tell him, no matter what…
Or maybe not, as a loud sound of crashing was heard, followed by a menacing shout from Kangin. Leeteuk jumped on his feet almost instantly, Siwon following him swiftly.
“I hope it’s not them… The majority of our clan is too young to fight…”
Leeteuk stopped on his tracks when he reached for the door, so abruptly that Siwon crashed in him. Turning around, the Parent looked into his newborn’s eyes very intensely.
“If I tell you to run, you run, understood?”
“But Leeteuk…”
“No but, Siwon! You are still too young to engage in fights, and you are the only Child Kangin and I have, we can’t permit that something happens to you… built like a tree or not.”
Siwon took a long time to nod, not liking the idea of having to flee when the only people who could help him in this new life would be in danger. It was against everything he believed in. Leeteuk once told him that he was quite of a protector, but he had no idea where it came from… it was as if he was discovering himself everyday… so, so strange…
“Now come… Maybe it’s not what I think… Let’s hope that it isn’t…”
Once the lock was unlocked and they got out in the hallway, a vampire Siwon ignored the name of appeared, reaching for Leeteuk’s hand.
“Teuk, we really need you downstairs, Kangin is unable to contain him, I have no idea what happened, but he’s gone mad… You know how he is…”
“Thank you… Siwon, quickly!”
Who had gone mad? How did Leeteuk knew who it was? Was it always the same person that lost his mind like that? Was it a regular happening in this clan? How could Siwon know… in only a month he had yet to know the whole clan and even less know all the events that could strike them all…
Once they reached the lower floor, Siwon stopped running as he saw what was going on. Okay, that wasn’t what he expected to see..
Heechul had the Empire Representative against the wall, holding him with force while his sword was against the other man’s neck. Heechul seemed possessed by some strange aura, or if he was in control of it, it was way too strong to be totally normal. Kangin was pulling him, trying to keep him from killing the representative.
“You damn Chinese! You will pay!”
“Heechul, calm down! I did nothing!”
“Oh yeah? Then why did you promised Jessica and my heir to the other Heechul?!”
“I didn’t… but I did ask him to let me have THIS clan’s heir, though…”
