MovieBlog: Is a remake of the Karate Kid with Jackie Chan as Mr. Miyagi and Will Smith's son as Daniel really necessary? Why does this need to be redone? Is the orignal not enough? I'm confused. And why has Will Smith, who I usually find to be a very intelligent person, not advised his son AGAINST this? Is this a case of "He needs to make and learn from his own mistakes" ? In this case, he really should step in. (And for the record, I really liked the original, back in the day. Wonder whatever happened to Ralph...)
