Project Runway - finale previews

Oct 18, 2014 06:52

So the designers are sent to Rome to get inspired and their collections are to be based on Rome somehow? Okay, that’s a first. Do they need inspiration for a final runway?

They have five weeks to make a collection. Then Tim goes on visits. So visits happen, and there's meeting families and making comments. He tells Charkita that if he could, he'd stay and babysit... er, HELP her up to the finale. He tells Amanda, “Don’t try too hard.” She needs to edit. He tells Sean not to split his collection into tailored v. fringe. Sean's going to go with fringe, not a surprise. I forget what he tells Kini, they dance though.

So now the designers are back in NYC for fashion week, and the judges want a preview.

So now there’s a preview show. No eliminations, just a preview. Meh. I liked the finale eliminations. Why aren’t we doing this? Straight up, probably because Kini would be so out of the show at this point, his collection is stunningly awful.

Amanda:

Okay. That first look is badly cut or something. I like the idea, but the execution seems bunchy. I like the jewelry for a runway. Is the middle dress’s huge slit trying to meet its friend the plunging neckline?

Sean:

Fringe. Okay. I don’t like the white draped dress - it’s too bunchy at the hips. I like the orange fringe. Meh to the middle dress.

Char:

I really don’t like shorts on the runway but I like the pattern in that first look and I like the sweater-type thing on the side. I really hate the top of the middle look - what is it?

Kini:

EW WHY. He went with “lux denim” - good lord, why? Who would wear any of this? I do like the white top on the first look, but that last look is ugly as sin. It looks like a chandelier where her shoulders should be! And the middle looks like cobwebs hanging off her. Ug. Ly.

Feedback:

Sean: He's inspired by betrayal of Caeser so he booted the whole "Rome look" to make a "Rome idea" and good for him. The look goes from pure and white to the black moment and the red/orange - yeah. Heidi likes it, Zac thinks it’s exciting.

Char: Heidi isn’t sure of the relation of the looks. Nina thinks the middle look is awful. Loosen them up! The clothes border on sexy, but they don’t flow. The graphic work is good, according to Zac.

Amanda was “super inspired by Rome.” The heavy old buildings and then the modern contrast in brights. Zac loves the jewelry, so does Nina. Heidi likes the ease of the clothes but wants more color. Nina loves the skirt but the zipper is cheap looking. The middle look is too bohemian, she needs to get past that. Move along, Amanda, move along!

Kini: Denim, structure, technique and different silhouettes. Heidi thinks it is just too old lady. He has to hit the ground running and fix everything. They’re great in constructions and ideas but it really needs to be restyled. The coat is just too much. Nina thinks the hair and makeup and the accessories is bad - it all needs to be made much cooler.

From the preview, sounds like it’s going to be between Sean and Amanda, but you never know, right?

Overall - boring. I miss an elimination! Guess they didn’t want to get rid of Kini. Plus I don’t even have the energy to roll my eyes at the hotel product placement and how robotic the hotel spokesperson was. I think this show has worn the fight right out of me - I’m feeling stunned by the relentlessness of the BS. But, if I have to pick who I want to win at this point, I guess I'll pick Sean because I like that orange-red color and nothing else really interests me.

How are you all feeling about this?
