The designers really want their models back. Yes, the kids were fine, but give me living clothes hanger, right? DUH DUH DUUUUUUUHHHHH!! ( Read more... )
Honestly this lot was so bad I think Korina won by default. I don't like the shoes with it but it was the most polished look out there.
I also don't get why the outfit for the teacher is inappropriate. Unless she plans on wearing it to work it's fine. She still young enough to wear a look like that. It suffers from Char's tendency to make bulky ruffle-y peplums and draping at the waist, but I like the look. Just because someone is a teacher doesn't mean they have to dress like the proverbial school marm.
I like Kini jacket but hated the skirt. I wish he had done pants.
Sean needs to stop beating the fringe dead horse. That dress was a bit mother of the bride.
Emily's dress skated right up to the border of being costumey. Shame because I think it may be the best thing she has done. If those silly ruffles weren't there, she would have been my choice for the win.
Amanda's was ugly, Alexander's was worse. He was right choice for the auf.
As for the extra Tim save. Sorry it was lame. Have Char "make it work" 10 extra minutes was unfair. Also those designers need to shut it. You said yes, either grow a pair or shut it.
I'm starting to dislike this season out of pure boredom. I miss seeing fashion. The only finale collections I am halfway interested in seeing have already been auf'd.
BTW - Sandhya tweeted a copy of her Marie Claire fashion spread. Just as I suspected her designs work better as editorial looks.

Yep, the boots were such a cliche. But, yeah, the jacket and skirt definitely matched and were definitely polished. I really loved Emily's (except for, again, the shoes)! I still think if she'd left off the wings, she'd have had a better shot at the top.

...I get what you're saying, and it's a personal decision for each teacher out there, but IMO it's too far out of character. I teach on the college level, and I wouldn't want any of my adult students to see me in seriously plunging necklines or micro-minis. Not that her students would see her at a club, but their parents might. Even if they don't, teachers have a certain sensibility - there had to be a way to translate that to sexy without going off the rails.

Bwah! I don't agree that it was mother-of-the-bride (okay, maybe a bit), but yeah, the fringe didn't go along with the netting on top. And I'm really tired of fringe.

I KNOW RITE. Yeah, I think I might have liked Emily a lot more in general if she was able to edit her looks for the parameters of the challenges, or just in general. She has a sharpness to her I like, it's just her taste sort of flies off into the hinterlands sometimes.

I agree. And despite keeping myself from any and all spoilers, I can't help but hearing a bunch of "mehs" about the final runways, which, while not surprising, is just sad. Especially if Sandhya's is the best of them. I did like her runway (I checked it out - not a fan of the wording but the design and colors were cool) but I wasn't over the moon about it.
Thanks for Sandhya's editorial! The shoes work nicely, and it's cool in a silhouette. Definitely an editorial look.

I ran an early intervention program for 3 -5 year olds for several years. I always dressed professionally for work, but my off time was mine. I just didn't get the pearl clutching about it being inappropriate for a teacher. Sure there are variables depending on the population you teach and certain activities that may bleed over into your teaching duties, but that outfit just wasn't a big deal to me.
