My Birthday Month Is Nearly Over!
And my, what a month it's been!
Rachel continues to be very hale and hearty, and wants to be fed all the time -- which is a good thing, because the doctors are being picky about her weight. But at the same time they say that she looks very good and is clearly very healthy, so that's all right.
Peire & I had a marvelous time at georgie_bird's revel -- I got to wear a new dress that I've never fit into before, and we did dancing, played games, socialized with friends...while my parents watched Rachel and gave us the night off. Georgie, has your husband finished the Henry VIII Clue game yet? We're terribly excited about playing it.
And then came my birthday! A little more low-key this year because of the other more exciting birthday this month, but I still had a marvelous time -- I went out shopping with birthday money and got some very nice outfits, my brother gave me gift card to buy some books (I got Naomi Novik's Victory of Eagles and Neil Gaiman's Fragile Things), and then Peire took me for a really excellent sushi dinner at Sakura, which is something I've been waiting for, for literally months, and it was delicious!
Other than these things we've not been up to much since we're still working out our budget and watching our spending, but within a few months I'm sure we'll be back up to normal cruising altitude, so to speak. I'm looking forward to all the activities of this coming Fall & Winter season, as Rachel gets bigger and we can take her around to those things. Anyhow, that's all for now!
