I just finished my most recent baby afghan; however, I had to rip out the last bit when I realized there was an unsightly hole in it. It wasn’t exactly a twisted stitch. I ripped it out and put it back on the needles last night but I was too tired and disgusted to do anymore real work on it. I was all ready to start on a new project for myself.
aehathor gave me some Knit Picks Wool of the Andes in
Snickerdoodle ages ago and I wasn’t sure what to do with it. So I decided to supplement it with Lion Wool in
Midnight Blue and make a felted striped bag. I ended up purchasing two books yesterday one with a 30% off coupon and another in the discount rack at Borders.
Knitting for Two by Erika Knight
This has a lot of great baby items that are not baby afghans. I've been making baby afghans pretty much non-stop for about 6+ years. I don't know it seems like forever. So it is great to give myself options. I love Mary Janes and there is a pattern from MJ styled baby booties. I'm in love! It is nice to see maternity clothes for mom as well.
Knitting the Easy Way by Terry Kimbrough
This has more basic patterns in it but what I'm making next is in this book. I was thinking about making a felted shoulder bag from two different types of wool but I found a felted striped market bag that will do the trick. Nothing like using a pattern when you are a newbie felter or rather an intentional felter. :-D
I also bought six skeins of Lion Wool in
Autumn Sunset. I didn't have a plan for it when I purchased it but I might make
a felted diaper bag from
Knitting for Baby by Melanie Falick but that is subject to change. I don't own that book yet. I might match it with Lion Wool in
Purple for the pockets.
In my yarn basket I have a few FO, which feels great! I have the finished Baby Yoda Sweater, the Easiest Baby Afghan in Ocean & Pale Green and I converted another WIP to a baby afghan. I was making a
nine-patch afghan in granny squares for a twin bed but I never got beyond the 1st nine-patch. So I used spruce green for the four middle blocks, aran for the main color and border and orchid for the corners.
I opted to not make the 2nd Baby Yoda sweater because the shower is next weekend and I have enough to deal with co-hosting the shower.
I'll see if I can take pictures of my FO with my craptastic webcam. I almost had a 3rd baby afghan to add to the FO pile. Maybe I'll go finish it now so I can move on and find some focus.
