And Yukimuras troubled face was awesome...HE needs to get beaten once... seriously - who's fucking more annoying? ^^" Ryoma who still wants to LEARN and FIGHT or Yukimura who's a ALL-MIGHTY?? (oh, I need to edit that! XD)
But yeah - *grin* I was pretty amused by the face expression of Tezuka...^^ But he won't kill Yukimura - because Ryoma is going to! XD No, because he and Sanada are friends now, remembeR? ^^*****************

On the other hand, if you consider that neither of them have lost an official match before, think of it this way: Yukimura may never have lost a match, but he lost a hell of a lot else. He lost the ability to walk, to play tennis - sure, he's recovered, but he's been through a hell of a lot more than Echizen has.
That's why, in the end, I still think Yukimura deserves to win this match. Now, if it had been Tezuka versus Yukimura... I might have been harder-pressed to decide (but I think my final choice would have been the same).

Yes, it's sad that Yukimura went through such a terrible thing, but then nobody should win against Yukimura because of his past.
What matters is that he can play now but he doesn't really fight, does he? He's toying with Ryoma - and that is the thing that makes me think that no matter what his past was he doesn't deserve to win, if he isn't giving his best NOW where he has the chance!
But yeah - I can understand the pure "I like Rikkai more"...

And Ryoma isn't the ONLY one who is really trying!
EVERYONE (or at least almost everyone) give it their all. Ryoma is no different. Also. Maybe Yukimura hasn't lost, but we haven't exactly had to witness him kick ass so much that we've got tired of it, and WHY does Ryoma need to lose? Because losing is good for everyone! Especially an arrogant brat like Ryoma who needs to fall on his ass. How can you learn to get up if you never fall??? Also, it would be AWESOME if Konomi surprised everyone with making Ryoma lose in the end, thus avoiding predictable endings. Predictability is hardly every admirable. Total shockers usually are. :D

Yes, but in this match there is only Yukimura - and Ryoma. And Yukimura is being more of a smart-ass than a worthy opponent.
Losing isn't good at all. Is what you learn from a loss that's good. But - obviously - Ryoma is learning without losing. He's learning by having such great opponents. He's getting stronger during the matches, he doesn't have to lose to get stronger - some people have to. He doesn't. It's not that Ryoma is so superior and all-mighty like Yukimura. I think Yukimura deserves to lose just to let him remember that he actually can lose in tennis. And I don't know... PoT isn't gambling. It's serious - and people learn from what Ryoma learns. I don't think it would be good to shock people..

And YES, losing IS good. Like you wrote later, just to KNOW that you CAN lose is inevitable for personal growth. Just losing itself is something one can learn from. And yes, it brings with it also more. So altogether it's losing itself and what one can learn from the events that follow. ;)
No, I don't think a person has to LOSE to get stronger. You can learn without losing, but losing is STILL vital. And I won't repeat myself. XDD On the same note, yes Yukimura needs to lose as well. EVERYONE does. Ryoma is no exception either. You're pretty much saying that it's okay for everyone but Ryoma to lose, because he doesn't need to? And WHAT is it that people can learn from what Ryoma learns? Anything different from what they can learn through other characters that struggle against strong opponents, stronger opponents while sometimes losing and sometimes winning?
