I think you distorted my opinion. It's a great idea to avoid passing on diseases and other things that would make life miserable, but we're humans, and we're prone to the slippery slope. I'm not saying I disagree with your concept, but I'd worry about where we'd end up. "Diseases" becomes "poor eyesight" and that becomes "big noses" and that becomes "bad hair" and soon enough we're designing our own children, as you said, and I think there is plenty wrong with that. I'd prefer living in a world where we don't see physical imperfections as obstacles to success or an indicator of one's worth.
