So, I ventured out last night, into the land of the stupid. Why does holiday shopping bring out the morons? I managed to get all of the holiday shopping completed for my someone special *grins*. All the while cursing loudly. Let's see where to begin.....
Walked into store #1 with the boy (yep, even took him shopping too) and this cashier lady looks at him and tells him he looks familiar then proceeds to follow us to the other side of the store!!! I'm like WTF! Don't make me have to break out my people beater! Although, I was amused as the boy and I had just finished a conversation about "the stupid" and he said he attracts them. I confess...he was correct. But, the boy had a case of "the stupid" as well. You see, he was paying for his merchandise at said store and says to the cashier "why did they put this here? -refering to the card swiper that we all know and love- So the polite cashier actually explains the story about how the counters were built first and blah blah. the boy then says well you should move the hole...*scratches head* umm...move the hole in a counter????? *SMACK* I find the ULTIMATE present for you know who and squee loudly in the store at my surprise of finding such the perfect present. (people look at me strangely but I don't care...I am strange.)
Moving right along we make it to store #2- again we are wondering aimlessly and the boy finds some more things he wants to buy so we get in line and of course out of the big ass selection of art pencils he picks the 2 with no tag *facepalm* so I go running to the back of the store with pencil #1 (unknowing of what awaits at the register) and come back with a good one. THEN they (he and cashier) tell me this pencil doesn't have a tag either *the humanity* so, I make the boy go back and change this one all the while getting those vile evil looks from impatient customers. I look up and see the boy with a smile of triumph holding the new pencil in the air as he comes walking up. ...and off we zip to store #3
So we get to store #3 and try to play chicken with a minivan while walking in. She wasn't stopping and so we started to play the "two people at a stop sign who keep starting at the same time game" The boy finds the aisle with the pianos in it and proceeds to start jamming...people are staring and he doesn't care. It made me smile though, he was having a great time and he's pretty good too!
After the shopping was done, the boy sprung for pizza...all in all it was a good night. I especially loved having a chance to unwind when I got home *smirk*
boy,
holidays
