Big Ball of Stress !!

May 25, 2005 18:49

Perhaps you were wondering...whatever happened to Bob and Kristy, those two crazy kids who got engaged last fall and then disappeared off the face of the earth...

Well, I won't speak for Bob, but I'm going out of my mind with stress.

We settled on the house on May 9th. Woo Hoo!
From that day one, we've made one to two runs with car, pickup or both, and *constant* packing. We already had a lot packed, but we also had more stuff than you'd really imagine could fit in our little 2 bedroom apartment. It's kind of like a clown car here. Your jaw just drops as more and more boxes and furniture keep coming out the front door!

So....sick...of...boxes....
We've all been there, you can all relate!

Then in the final crunch, the last two weeks to pack up and move, we get served with Discovery.
Discovery is where the opposite party in a court case asks very pointed questions (which you obviously have to answer truthfully!) and wants you to produce documents relating to our (sorry, Bob's) care of Dezire for the PAST FIVE YEARS !!

That's right, dig out every health insurance claim, every child support check, pictures, drawings, documentation, but somehow giving them the least amount of ammunition possible.

And it's due to our lawyer in.... TWO WEEKS !!!
Well, after we got through the rest of the week and our weekend with Dez and the first move weekend.... it was.... My Birthday!!
Sadly the rain plotted against Bob and he didn't get into Maryland until 7pm, so we had to grab Taco Bell and dash to catch Star Wars, Revenge of the Sith (it was awesome!). (And I still packed a few boxes after work on my birthday before we dashed off to the movies. *sigh*

So now folks, we're down to just about.......ONE WEEK !!!!!

And everything for Discovery needs to be in triplicate.

*sigh*

Staples will let you use their copiers for .06 a page. So, I'm pretty sure that's where we'll be on Memorial Day, because it's the only day we've got left where we don't have to be moving, or digging up these documents.

*STRESS*

Yes, it's actually a good thing. Our new lawyer is doing great. He's expensive, but Bob's parents are helping with that end of it. Just getting to court will be a major coup for us! But it's hopeful how things are moving along. And we won't be the ones to hold anything up. This has the potential to do great things for our power balance with the ex-wife, and we may get more time with Dez. We'll just have to wait and see.

But if you read in the paper that I've exploded, that's why.
