I think one of the main things I would say is firstly - don't make any sort of decision like this within a month of an event. Give it time to settle in your head as well as others and things will work tend to seem less massive than they do straight after an event.
Also, as someone who would probably have to hold my hand up and say I didn't enjoy the event much I would have to stress that the reasons I didn't enjoy it weren't to do with plot. In fact I would quite categorically say that the main thing that was wrong with the event/site/fighting/reffing etc was the weather - quite simply the weather on Saturday was horrible and it wouldn't really have mattered what site we were on, what caterers we had or what plot we were running - weather like that just ruins things. And contrary to what some players and plot people think - you can't control the weather. Sunday I actually quite enjoyed (after having to help with the bane of my life aka the marquee) even given the fact that I had to tramp up and down and all around, but because the weather was better nothing seemed so bad.
As for the site - I think that if it was summer - it would be a great site for a scouty creepy type event - it just doesn't work in winter. And sometimes the only way to find that out is to do an event at a site.
And while I do think the caterers would have been better beside the players, I also saw the kitchen up there and am pretty glad that the caterers were cooking elsewhere.
But the main thing I would say is that every minor niggle that people will have had has been magnified by the keech weather. So don't take the scale of whine as gospel.
Don't make snap decisions about this sort of thing and if you do stay on (which I hope you do) then get used to people whinging and learn to extract the nuggets of truth that may or may not be buried in a pile of whinge.
Also to summarise the main reason I didn't enjoy things was because I'm fat and lazy and you made me walk lots :(. I want you to know that I hold you personally responsible for any weight-loss incurred on my part.
