I don't often post publicly, but I think maybe I should on this one.
It seems that in general people hated the event. I feel exceptionally bad about that as I had done most of the logistics and was appointed acting Plot 4 for the weekend. The plot I had written, intended to be incidental “can if they like, doesn’t matter if they don’t” plot became the main focus for the weekend as various other elements were pulled and bumped around. On the plus side, that one plotline seemed to stand up to its elevation reasonably well. It’s about the only thing that did.
People hated the site. I am sorry about that. It is all that there was. Every other site people suggested and I looked at (which was all of the suggestions) was already booked. People hated the fact that the IC area was at the top of the hill but the caterers were at the bottom. I still don’t see how else I could have done it without having the faction camping in the car park. Again, this was my call, my idea. Don’t blame the command team for it.
Basically, it all went wrong and all I can concentrate on is the overwhelming negativity coming my way from people who are disappointed with the event and the faction. I did both the logistics and the plot, so it’s my fault.
I have said it before, in reasonably private places, so here it is for the record. Unless something happens to make me change my mind I will cut my losses and do what I believe the majority wants and what is best for my faction. I will quit plot team, and possibly leave the faction altogether.
I can only apologise for en event that was such a letdown to so many people in so many ways. Hopefully Far Reach will be an event that I can be proud to have as my last.
