Ugandan conservative lawmakers are currently pushing for laws that make being lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgender punishable by death. They have just put forward a petition to their parliament with 2 million signatures in favour of this. This legislation would also allow nurses and doctors to be jailed for failing to"turn in" their patients, and neighbours would be encouraged to report "gay activity".  This is pretty abhorrent, and they are pushing for it to be brought to a vote this week.
Personally I find this abhorrent. If you do too, there's an international petition being put together by All Out in order to show that the rest of the world feels this is unacceptable. This will be sent to the Ugandan president Museveni.  It is located here. Please sign and pass it on.
