I could say that this sign applies to my age. I'd rather have my supple 23-year-old, 95-pound body back than the almost-53 year old one I'm living with now. But, no, that's not what this sign refers to. This is a little Bayfield, Wisconsin humor and is a road sign posted along the road that leads back to a very nice restaurant, The Wild Rice, off the beaten path.

I have a lot I'd like to write about. I still haven't posted about our 35th wedding anniversary trip to Bayfield. And now I have my husband's 40th high school class reunion to talk about, which was this past Saturday night. We'll see if the right shoulder and arm are up to all that this week!

My shoulder and arm are feeling a bit better today. I've been on Flexeril, a muscle relaxant, since last Tuesday evening. I'm only taking it at bedtime due to its sedative properties instead of the three times a day that the directions say. I think that even at that low dose, though, it's helping. I'm also doing some exercises to stretch and tone the affected muscles and tendons. I can tell that they're doing something. It's uncomfortable when I do them, and then my muscles in my scapular region and down my arm start to quiver and twitch. Quite an odd sensation, and it happens randomly throughout the day. And my right shoulder has started to snap, crackle, and pop! which is something it's never done before, but I think it's probably because the joint is moving more freely because the muscles and tendons are loosening up. I'm in less pain now so perhaps I'm on the road to recovery with this thing.

I'm finding out how my husband must feel when he travels so much. We've been gone two weekends in a row now. We had a four-day weekend last weekend when we went on our anniversary trip, and then we set off for Hibbing, Minnesota (a three-hour drive) Saturday morning and came back yesterday afternoon. I feel like I've packed, unpacked, packed, and unpacked (sort of), and this morning I still had stuff scattered around and had trouble getting my morning routine pulled together to get to work. I have it easy, though. Dale had to pack last night for a 3-day trip to Atlanta and caught a 7:20 plane out of the Twin Cities this morning. I honestly don't know how the guy does it and still keeps his sanity intact. (Maybe this is his excuse for many things!)

So, more later, I hope!
