Okay, people, listen up. I’m now a group administrator. I take this position seriously and responsibly. Just ask the folks at work who are members of the Third Floor Coffee Club that I’ve run for 18 months now what kind of tight ass ship I run.
As you guys know, my husband had a little technical problem on the recent Italy trip and lost over 500 photos of the trip. Now it’s up to the other six dozen or so people on the trip who all had cameras with them to share their photos with us! The problem, of course, is how to arrange this.
Dale and I have been active on the photo site Flickr for a handful of years now. Most all of our photos that are worth looking at have been uploaded to Flickr. (Good thing, too, since we’ve had two computers crash in the last couple of years!) We (okay, I’ve) become very conversant with Flickr and know about sets and tags and groups and all that. I thought that a good way to share photos would be to get people who were on the tour to upload their photos to Flickr and then post them to the group I just created. Cool, huh? Now, the problem is getting the word out to the folks who were on the trip and getting them on board with this scheme.
I’m posting this here and tagging it just in case any Augies see this and want to share their photos. This Flickr group is for the Augustana College choir and their friends and family. The name of the Flickr group is [a very cumbersome] Augustana College Choir Italy Tour 2008. The Augustana College Choir just made a two-week trip to Italy, May 28 to June 10, 2008, and sang in many beautiful churches. They saw Palermo, Sorrento, Naples, Assisi, Capri, Rome, and the Vatican. They sang at St. Peter’s Basilica. It was all very impressive (so I’m told!), and I would like to see photos from the first ten days of that trip as much as anyone.
I’ve uploaded my husband’s 180 pictures of Rome that made it home. I’ve gotten this thing started. Let’s run with it, Augies!
