Finals are over!!!! *wavesflag* And if I found out I flunked all of them, I'm going to bury my head in the snow and scream!

So over the break am rediscovering my fangirl side and have been re-reading old favorites and discovering new ones. And in between, I'm tackling Radiata Stories, which I'm still head over heels in love with! It's so terrible that one of the most gorgeous characters is such an ass! >_<

I can't believe how out of touch I am with everything! And everybody seems to be moving forward! *pouts*

And is it just me or do my posts get more and more juvenile as time passes by?

EDIT: Oh yes, fic recs...

If you're at all a Draco fan, you really should go and read Maya's If You've a Ready Mind because her Ravenclaw!Draco is an absolute scream and her Quality of Mercy fic because good post-HBP fics are hard to find!

Any Lois McMaster Bujold fans? Well, run and read the following:

Caroline Wong's "An Unlooked for Gift": First ever Chalion fic I've ever read and it's a fun little fic about what-might-have-been while Caz was in Roknari hands.

Mara Greengrass' "Creeping Ambition" (Vorkosigan/Firefly x-over): Ivan meets the crew of Firefly. Fun crack fic for me!

E.H. Smith's "Marks and Scars Trilogy" (Vorkosigan/HP): Wherein Snape meets Mark and the other Vorkosigans at those little points of time when he needs to meet them most. Really, HP and the Vorkosigan-verse are wildly incompatible but this trilogy WORKS! And WORKS well on top of it too!

A.J. Hall's "Time Shall Not Mend" (Vorkosigan/HP): Contains mentions of E.H. Smith's fic which I think inspired it. Takes place within the Lust Over Pendle universe. A grief-stricken Ekaterin finds out that life does go on and people still need her. Lots of Draco and I really adore the characterization of Draco, Ekaterin, Ivan, and Miles in this fic. I favor this one much more than E.H. Smith's fic.

As for Hikago, Vkempf's "The Way of Go", presents a very startling exploration as to an alternate nature of the Divine Hand of God. She goes into Go's past connections with Taoism and it shows that she's done her homework! One thing though is that her writing is quite stilted and some of the phrasing is odd---almost as if she originally wrote it in another language and has to translate it into English.

fic recs, hp, chalion, vorkosigan, hikago
