How do you stop an explosive two weeks of season finales?

My next two weeks are filled by season finales of the fav shows.

Already completed is the series finale of Gilmore Girls. There were rumours of an abridged season for next year but alas, Gilmore Girls is no more. I’m just a tad upset that Paris was MIA for the series finale - she was pretty much my fav character and I would have expected no less that a grand flourish for her exit. But the ending was just right - not too sad nor was it corny, but rather just right leaving it open for a reunion show somewhere down the road.

Over on America’s Next Top Model, as usual, the wrong girl won. Quidquid. I’m certain they had their reasons for selecting Jaslene over Natasha although I can’t figure out why. Natasha has way more potential for success in all aspects of modeling (runway, high fashion, commercial, print, etc.) whereas Jaslene looks like she could only make it in high fashion runway. She photographs well but looks pretty much the same in every shot. In other words, she has no versatility whatsoever. Yep, I would have picked Natasha, hands down. But I guess I’m not running a modeling agency so what do I know?!! Oh well, next week we’ll see what Canada has to offer.

American Idol is down to the final two and, for a change, the appropriate final two. Blake and Jordin actually seem like they could be American Idols - the others were too old or too boring to keep America’s interest once the show was over. Blake is far too original for the target Idol audience though and my guess is Jordin will win. No big deal - Blake is better off signing with a music producer of his choice(if he hasn’t already). I wouldn’t want to see him restricted by any Idol mandates that would ultimately squelch his creativity and force him to perform manufactured pop drivel. In other words, Blake will follow nicely in the footsteps of Chris Daughtry (arguably, the most talented performer ever on Idol).

Lost - why why why do they have to kill off Charlie (or, even worse, Desmond….eeek!!!)???? Don’t do it!!!! *prays* Next week is the big finale. Did you notice how they did not mention Locke or show him in the previews. They want us to forget about him. But he’ll be back…mark my words. LM*F*AO when "Charlie" listed one of his greatest moments as getting "the ring". See I knew Frodo should have just given the ring to Merry and Pippin!!! Would have made for quite an interesting journey through Middle Earth.

Heroes - absolutely the very best ending to a show this season = Sylar *fangirl swoon*, now revved up with Exploding Man (aka Ted)’s powers, lording over New York atop a tower, uttering a subdued “boom” as he ponders the ominous devastation he intends to inflict upon the Big Apple. And that wasn’t even the season finale. Next week  - either the bleak future owned by Sylar is realized, or Sylar is stopped. What a fab series. I wish I had seen it from the beginning of the season. DVDs please!!! It makes me think back to the first year of Lost. It was so very good then but it just went downhill after that. Heroes season one was as enjoyable if not better than season one of Lost. Hopefully the writers will take a cue from Lost and realize that it is best not to detract from the central characters we have grown to know and love (or loathe, in some cases) and just build on that rather than introducing a whole bunch of new characters to keep the series “fresh” while the writers try to figure out what they heck they are doing.

Tonight’s season finales: Ugly Betty and Supernatural.

Rafa update: bye in the first round, defeated Hernandez is the second round (7-5,6-1), defeated Andreev today in the third round (6-4,6-1) and is now on to face Gonzo in the QFs tomorrow in Hamburg where weather conditions have been less than ideal - in Rafa’s words,  “the cold was with a lot of water”. LOL. Vamos

lost, top model, tennis, idol, television, heroes
