First off, relationships will always change and warp. Its how things go, especially when they go for a long time. People settle into a routine, males especially. It is usually a sign of contentment in the relationship. Just because he doesn't do the cute little things he used to doesn't mean he loves you any less. As far as the little spats go, if any two human beings never fought after having spent X-amount of time together, it would be a fucking miracle. Jim Breuer had it right when he said relationships are all about patients with each other.
Secondly, as far as has disagreements with friends, see above lines a few ways. In any event, I know I personally would rather have a confrontation with someone and get it all out in the open rather than let it bottle up and fester and I respect people a lot more when they come to me with a problem. Sides, you were never truly neutral, you just had chosen not to express your opinion. ^_^
