My Freedom: the weekend

Jul 12, 2008 22:49

The prompts for this class run from Monday to Friday so we should get the weekends free. I wasn't going to write anything but I have been thinking a lot about time and travel and stuff and reading other class member's blogs has shown me that I am such a lucky so and so.
I get to do what I want when I want and then I can grumble about it if I want to! How cool can a short person get? (no need to answer that)
I have posted lavendar pillows to Caddyman and Dr Furtle and purchased some tea and biccies for the Colonel. I have posted all the books that were mooched off me this week - now there's a great place to visit if you like to read and don't know what to do with all those books afterwards http://www.bookmooch.com
I think you can look without having to register but whatever, it is free and that's always good. Now, where was I? oh yes.
I have posted all the books that were won in swaps on BCuk extra and also the ones that were chosen in relays and virtual book boxes.
I have journalled all the books that have arrived here this week. We went to Ebbw Vale to the Festival shopping mall. We wanted more sugar free sweeties from Julian Graves and when we got there they were having a half price day so we bought nuts and dried cranberries and crackers and ... stuff. I love that we can each have a sherbet lemon or a chocolate lime or a mint and it won't send the blood sugar sky high. We only have one because too many would give us something I can't spell that begins with D.
From the festival site we went to Morrisons for lunch YUM. I had roast beef and soggy broccoli - not quite up to their usual standard. after that we were forced to take a look in the Littlewoods Clearance shop where they too were having a half price day so I bought two skirts and two tops for Miss Em and some Nike cut off trousers for me (they will be full length on me) and the whole lot came to fifteen squid!
Then we popped in to see my dad-in-law and give him the beer we bought him at Costco last week. He is looking well and is back to playing golf three times a week which is great. It was lovely to see that the stress lines are fading from his face now.
We came home and I made toad-in-the-hole with spuds and not soggy broccoli and gravy and then sleazed in front of my puter.
All in all a very good day.
