My new baby
The one piece of furniture I've wanted since I was about 12: a cedar trunk to use as a coffee table/storage unit. I bought an Amish made cedar end table when I was 7 (really) at a fair, but I’ve always wanted a treasure/hope chest of my own. I even looked into making one myself.
And today, I bought one- authentic cedar, Amish made, deep, beautiful wood- for 32.00.
I found a small scratch and asked if I could take a little off of the 120.00 price. They said sure, we'll give you 75 percent off! I have been admiring it for weeks. I can’t believe it!
Now I have a place for linens, quilts, fabric, etc....and a place to put our drinks and books! Only problem is, it isn't going to match the funky style of my white Ikea sofa. I am thinking of covering the top of the chest with felt to match the pillows on the sofa. I want to soften both the super modern look of the sofa and update the super Amish look of the trunk….I want it to look cute, vintage and girly. Well, we shall see how it all goes.
