employed work force, here i come!

Everything happens for a reason, at least that's what I'd like to believe.

People have scolded me for always putting my phone on silent, to cut the long story short, it eventually lead me to the branch of juice bar which I've been officially hired. Today was my second shift, and even though I felt light headed while peeling and slicing 4 pineapples, I enjoyed every minute of it! (Cut me some slack, those pineapples really were hard to cut.)

The first shift was unexpected on my part because I didn't think they were going to give me a trial on the spot. I turned on the blender without the lid, you could imagine how that went. (Now I know why it's encased.) Then as I was scooping out the yoghurt, it fell out of the scoop, and out of impulse, I caught it with my bare fingers! I stood there for a few seconds, dumbfounded as to what I should do with it. Then, I put it down on top of another container. (Yes, of course it had been discarded.) I hope the customers didn't see it! I really have to keep in mind that I'm not at home, and that strangers wouldn't appreciate my personal touch (literally). And everytime, I'd have to stare at the recipe card before knowing what to put into the blend. Newbies! Hmph.

The reason I applied to this type of job was because I wanted to do something while at work, not just randomly stand around hoping customers will love and eventually buy the $100 dress/shoes/bag. Oh, and they told me I could go ahead and feel free to make my own drink anytime! Of course I kindly declined, I didn't want to look like a pig on my first day. Then the store owner repeated it to me again a while ago. Wow. It really is true. Who knows I might make myself one one day.

What can I say about the people? The staff's great! The store owner, manager aren't egostistical or power tripping, not at all! They've got a laid back work atmosphere. Now, I just hope I will continue to enjoy it for what time I have ahead.

A couple of my friends were talking about having to land a job during the break. Even though we've surpassed the time limit, so far, most of us have! Now, if only I could balance this with uni - awesome!

PS. Wheatgrass smells terrible, like burnt rubber! Can't believe people actually drink that.
