Oh, totally. The Blacks were certainly NOT the touchy-feely type. But I do see Sirius as being that way. That could be a movie thing (Oldman played him as rather physically affectionate) or because is animagus is a dog and, also, very affectionate. Either way, the kiss on the cheek totally works!

Gary did make him a quite affectionate, though I assume I would be, too, after losing one of my best friends. I'd want to hold on to my remaining loved ones. Literally and metaphoricaly. But then again in POA the fact that JKR called it a brotherly embrace makes me think that contact like that might have been common, or at least not shyed away from. I get the feeling, though, that his affections would have been reserved for only the people he was closest to (the Marauders, Harry, etc).

Anyway, I'm rambling. I'm happy it works. xD
