History is complicated....

I love Mrs Pilling, really, I do, but would it kill her to give some concrete directions for this broadsheet? It's becoming confusing. Are our articles supposed to be more like essays? Or are they supposed to be more like news articles? Direct, to the point, with no "smart fluff" in terms of filler words, or overly "fluffy" and elaborate with a thesis statement and all the nuances that go with a good essay. My personal preference would be like a news article, because we never get to actually write them, unless you count the English project at the beginning of the year (where I actually did better on writing the article-like essays than on my 1984 essay...), but I don't want a proper essay, since they're dedicated to training us to write collage level essays before we leave school. And the ads/obituaries? How many are we supposed to do? I'll do 3 and see what Farley decides we need to fill space. Yay for history projects started way too late because of other tests and projects.

And the brownies downstairs are really tempting, but I don't want to go down because then my parents will come up with things they want me to do, and I really want to finish this essay/article thing first.
