Books
I have inhaled every DWJ book I could get my hands on during Ike and the resulting power outage. I reread HMC a glorious 5 times in the span of 4 days and reread the first volume of the Chrestomanci series a wonderful 3 times. Although I had loaned out my copy of House of Many Ways to a friend (one of the few people I trust with my books), I still managed to read another 20 unrelated books (unfortunatly, none were by DWJ). Then, finally, my father decided to take pity on me and my mind (I had the wierdest dreams after reading the 1st Chrestomanci volume... they scared my parents with the intensity). Yesterday, he went out to the Galleria after a meeting for Laura with Page Parks (her modelling/acting agent) and bought the 2nd Chrestomanci volume and The Pinhoe Egg. As a result, I wasted most of today reading the Pinhoe Egg (another good book that I'm rereading) when I should have been cleaning out the disaster of our pool, which is no longer green. So, I just felt the need to fangirl-rant, and I managed to surprise Fuu with the fact that I don't want to find a way to slash any of her books, for two reasons. One, they are un-slashable, and two, I only slash if I am unhappy with the pairings and the portayal of that pair, and I think DWJ has made very good character choices. (Plus, I just don't want to slash characters from her books. They're fine the way she created them.)
