Tarte au chocolat

Jan 18, 2008 15:09

I know it's hard to tell from these journal entries, but they do feed me other things besides chocolate desserts.

INGREDIENTS - Crust
- Some butter (I don't know... 2, maybe 3, ounces?)
- Some flour (4, maybe 5, scoops?)
- Little, tiny bit of water

  • Melt butter
  • Add in an itty bit of water
  • Put in flour
  • Mix until doughy
  • Spread out in pan to make the crust
  • Put in 420°F oven for about 10 minutes

INGREDIENTS - Chocolate part
- 100 g chocolate
- 1 egg yolk
- Some "crème fraîche" (cream?)

  • Melt chocolate with the cream
  • Mix well
  • Quickly mix in egg yolk

All together
  • Put mixture in the crust thingamajig and spread evenly
  • Put in oven for about 25-35 minutes, or until the crust is... crusty and the chocolate looks firm

Madame had me copy the instructions from her recipe card. The problem: she writes her recipes in French. Those steps are what I remember doing (vaguely) but if you try to make this and screw up, it's not my fault.
