Little victories are often the nicest.  I was changing wallets.  The old one was falling apart, so it was the thing to do.  I found a Borders gift card I had forgotten about.  I don't even remember who gave it to me, though it  may well have been the Christmas gift from the Holiday Party at Bender from 2008!  Since the Borders at Garden State Plaza ( Read more... )

I don't think anyone begrudges you happiness. Seize it without guilt.

I suspect one or two might say otherwise, hermano. Though it would be nice to be wrong about it, what is the phrase, "Trust in God, but lock your door/tie your horse/tie your camel, etc."

Ah yes. Well, then imagine them grinding their teeth as an extra spice to enjoyment.

I don't know, I think that would be a little karmic overkill. Let us say I understand a little of why things are as they are. It does not mean I will just roll over and be trod upon as a result, however. I will eventually be in a place where I can forgive the initial deception that started the rift. Sadly, I doubt the forgiveness will ever be sought or asked for.

you're most definitely allowed to be happy and guilt-free, regardless of what others' think/want/desire. so, big raspberries to them!
and, if you're interested and would like, i have a copy of a biography of audrey hepburn (yes, she was one of my faves ), you may borrow. let me know the next time you'll be down for dance/meeting in hawthorne, and we'll do the pass-off

I just left NJ this afternoon. My cousin can now drive, so I'm not needed at her house anymore. We do have a standing agreement to do some gardening at her house when spring finally arrives. She was impressed with how I trimmed her hedges this past autumn. I find I actually like puttering about in a yard. (I did some of my own landscaping when I put the house on the market, and made that lovely discovery.) Nothing that will win Garden of the Month, mind you, but it is nice to look at a trimmed hedge, or see a patch free of weeds, or taste of a bottle of mulberry cordial from self-picked berries and think, I did that.

So when I'm at her place, I'll borrow the car and see you then.
