Progress? Nah. Just more like a filler--though chapters are starting to get longer. I do warn you that there will be a few chapters that probably will peak over 3000 words coming up in the near future.

“Do you need any help, Youngjae-ssi?” Heehyoung’s light, airy voice that was soft and nearly soothing ran down Youngjae’s spine like a hot poker. He had never heard anything more bone-chilling than her voice.
Youngjae stood at the counter, kneading the dough meticulously, having done this countless times and was well-practiced with it. Hardly did he ever have help in the kitchen, not for lack of anyone else trying, but because they always got in his way. He grew irritated when people were in his kitchen as he cooked. The fact that this woman, Daehyun’s girlfriend, thought it was appropriate for her to ask caused him to nearly scoff, but he had promised his best friend that he would be kinder. “No, thank you.”
“Are you sure?” She pressed.
Youngjae’s teeth ground together as he let out a slow breath to keep himself calm, not wanting to snap at the sensitive woman as he didn’t want to argue with his best friend again. “I’m sure. Why don’t you go join Daehyun?”
Instead of taking the hint, the woman pulled out a chair at the table and looked to the man as he cooked dinner. “He’s watching a movie with Yongguk-oppa. I don’t like those action movies.” She explained, doing her best to be nice and friendly. It was obvious that she was putting in effort to be friends with her boyfriend’s best friend but Youngjae couldn’t accept that.
He didn’t want to be friends with this woman. She was too pretty, too feminine, too nice and Youngjae had been sick of her the first time around. A part of Youngjae wondered if he could threaten Daehyun with their friendship again and get him to leave her. He didn’t want her around and yet it seemed that all the other guys liked her. Youngjae would love nothing more than to wrap his fingers around her throat and-
He cleared his throat and shook his head. He couldn’t believe that he had such thoughts. He wasn’t a violent person and those were certainly out of the ordinary for him to have in the first place.
“Precious b-babe?” Daehyun had started as he walked into the kitchen to locate his best friend. He had certainly been about to say ‘precious boy’, but had seen Heehyoung sitting at the table, being caught off guard by her presence as he didn’t realize she was in the room.
Said woman looked from Youngjae and to her boyfriend, not having noticed the slip up, nor the look of surprise and hurt on the younger man’s face and definitely not the guilt that her boyfriend expressed for a moment.
“Yes, oppa?”
Daehyun swallowed thickly, licking his lips as he forced himself to look away from Youngjae’s back and to his girlfriend, the woman that he was supposed to be staring at without the ability to help himself. It was so hard to, especially when Youngjae’s form was the one he found himself attracted to, the lack of curves but pale skin, lack of muscles with just the right amount of fat for him to find him appealing.
“Oppa?” Heehyoung’s voice took a sharp turn, dropping just a bit and even Youngjae could tell that it was meant to be sensual and sexually alluring, but he only found it disturbing. He didn’t even want to know what caused her to speak in such a way.
Though, he might be pleased if he had known that it was the thoughts Daehyun had been having about him that caused a physical manifestation of his attraction.
Heehyoung only assumed that this was why Daehyun came into the kitchen to begin with, to find her and express his desire in the way that they had only done a handful of times, nearly completely the act, but having been rudely interrupted. “How about we go to your bedroom? I’d hate for us to be a bother to Youngjae-ssi.”
Youngjae wanted to verbally protest to what Heehyoung was saying, make it clear that he wasn’t bothered, even if that’d be a blatant lie. He didn’t want her in the kitchen with him, but he definitely still wanted Daehyun, even though their relationship had turned awkward and into something that was not even half of what it had been before Heehyoung had come into the picture.
“That sounds like a good idea.” Youngjae felt his heart break from the fact that Daehyun agreed to go with her to their bedroom to-he didn’t even want to think about what they were going to be doing as it made his stomach churn and his heart ache.
“Dinner will be ready soon…” He said, though only earned a brushed off, half assed comment from Daehyun. Obviously, the man was distracted by the woman he was taking to his bedroom, his fingers dipping under the hem of her shirt to touch along her skin. Youngjae tried not to notice but he had and it made him even more ill. But of course, Daehyun didn’t see that. Or…Youngjae didn’t notice Daehyun noticing.
Dinner might have been a bit burned, but everyone knew better than to say anything about it.

“Come on man! Why the hell haven’t you hit that yet?” Himchan asked as he walked into the room with Daehyun, the maknaes at school while the four elder ones all gathered in the living room. Yongguk had made them a lunch and had served them all. Youngjae had his legs folded and the bowl in his lap as he picked at the food, though stopped eating completely as he realized what sort of turn that this conversation was taking.
Daehyun looked to Himchan and then to his best friend, still sore over the rejection from the younger man and sure that things between them would take a while before they were all okay again. But Himchan was a persistent fucker and never let anything go.
“Dae-ah, why?”
“Hyung…” Daehyun warned with a soft sigh, shaking his head as he doesn’t want to answer, not while Youngjae was in the room and not while he was gone. He had no explanation as to why they hadn’t had sex yet. He’d had plenty of times to get with Heehyoung in that way and had had plenty of opportunities to ‘hit that’ as Himchan put it. He just couldn’t bring himself to that point yet. Sure, they’ve fooled around but it wasn’t much compared to the longing for Youngjae that he felt every time.
“Himchannie, leave him be.” Yongguk stated firmly as he sat beside the man, nudging his arm as he began to eat. He reached for the remote and turned the TV on to some show while they ate. It wasn’t often that they gathered in front of the TV to eat.
Youngjae didn’t feel much like eating anymore and as he stared down at his mostly full bowl, he knew that he should, for his health at least. He tried to take another bite but the taste was nauseous and he just wanted to throw it up. Letting out a soft sigh, he dropped his chopsticks and intended to rise from the couch. That was before Daehyun sat next to him, reached into his bowl with his own chopsticks and picked up a piece of meat. Youngjae had thought that he would eat it before he held it to Youngjae’s lips.
“You need to eat.” He spoke softly, just enough so that it wouldn’t disturb the other two men, probably in too low of a tone for them to hear from the other couch while the TV was turned up. “Precious…come on. For your mister?”
It was a low hit, but Youngjae took the bait. He opened his mouth and took the small bite, chewing it and it somehow miraculously tasted ten times better than when he had taken a bite himself.
“There you go…now how about another?” Daehyun prodded softly, ignoring the affectionate glance they received from the leader as the eldest man always liked watching his friends take care of one another. Youngjae obediently took another bite, still marveling at the taste that was heavenly as Daehyun was the one to feed him.
Six bites later and Youngjae didn’t feel so down anymore. It had been a while since Daehyun had focused such attention on him and he had been truly missing it. Now that he had it, he felt that he could do anything. He could easily forget that Daehyun had gotten back with Heehyoung and that their friendship was falling apart because Daehyun was there with him, taking care of him by feeding him and it made Youngjae realize that maybe their friendship could be salvaged after all.
That was until Daehyun’s phone started ringing with that irritating ringtone of his that signified that it was her calling.
“Oh, hang on, Jae.” Daehyun spoke as he set down his chopsticks and reached into his pocket for his phone, pulling it out and answering it. “Hey babe.” It was only three seconds before he was rising from the couch and taking his bowl to the kitchen as he would also get privacy to talk to his girlfriend there.
Youngjae felt the food he’d been fed by Daehyun start to come back up and he didn’t know how much more he could take. This nausea was really kicking him in the ass and he was honestly growing tired of it. He took a deep breath and waited until he saw Daehyun head for their bedroom before he took his own bowl to the kitchen, seeing that his friend had left his on the counter without even rinsing it out.
The menial task of washing the few dishes gave Youngjae the peace of mind to calm his stomach.
