Both John Adams, the "voice" of independence and Thomas Jefferson, the "pen" of independence died on the same day. It was exactly 50 years since the signing of the Declaration of Independence, July 4th, 1826. Adams son, John Quincy, then president of the United States said, "it was a visible and palpable manifestation of Divine favor."
No kidding.
